Laurreth
Since a GPU upgrade, I got two weird graphics bugs, both restricted to small, fixed rectangular regions. One was an area to the left where small blocks of maybe 8x8 pixels were showing content from somewhere else on the screen, and the other was a block on the top centre of the screen where the bloom shader was doing weird things (looked like it was working with the wrong intensity). I'm using the 14.4 Catalyst driver, it happened both with the release candidate and with the WHQL. Is that an issue with the game tickling the driver slightly wrong, or did I just get the second dud card in a row?
Laurreth
I'm also getting the "good stuff" with corrupted geometry like https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36569220/forum-pics/swor-graphics-glitch.jpg and that's a tamer example where it's not something in level geometry flashing all over the place, kinda like those old green "power converter" flashes all over a zone. ialyxxiieee
i have the 280x using old and latest updates, and the screenshot above pretty much covers it, non stop graphical issues. restarting the game helps for a few mins until another glitch crops up, though i doubt anything will be done. :edit, happy to see its not just me Edited May 1, 2014 by ialyxxiieee
Laurreth
If it's a fairly reproducable issue, I hope it can be solved between EA and AMD. The shadow issue is flickering squares like https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36569220/forum-pics/swor-flickering-shadow.gif all over the place (ignore the blurry chat area, that was just done to "protect" the "innocent"), or shadows being huge fields of a pixelated mess. Theoriginalelite
I had flickering too, pretty sure it's coming from post-processing from Catalyst; anyways I set anti-aliasing (in game) to low and have yet to see the flickers I was getting, even with shadows, etc. maxed. Hope this helps!
Laurreth
For my Asus card there's a BIOS update that supposedly "remove rare artifacting events during gaming", I'll need to check that out. Hope springs eternal. (Update) Ix-nay on the date-up-ay, the totally legit ASUS VBIOS update (comes in a RAR) tells me "Your VBIOS no need update" or something similarly lost-in-translation. I'll try low AA and continue lifeblogging Edited May 2, 2014 by Laurreth

Laurreth
I have the R9280X-DC2T-3GD5. Reducing AA to low just produced a few hours of gameplay without obvious artifacts, thanks for that pointer Theoriginalelite.
Laurreth
Alright, reducing AA reduces the effects, but they're still there. Yesterday evening during one Voidstar match, I first got this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36569220/forum-pics/swor-psychofloor.jpg followed by my personal favourite: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36569220/forum-pics/swor-redrum.jpg which I want as a regular shader in some area! The "hyperactive red solarisation shader" effect even seemed to ramp up smoothly when I cast some spell, then it was like that for maybe a minute and got back to normal by itself. Today I've also got flickering mostly-white squares overlaid over the minimap which doesn't show up on screenshots, so here's the old-fashioned way: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36569220/forum-pics/swor-flickering-gunk-1796.jpg (there's a lot more of the small squares flickering all around that general area, and no, it's not caused by FRAPS since that was started only much later). Alec_Fortescue
Sorry my friend, this is what Radeon does to you. If you have time just return it and get a Geforce. I am on r9 290 and getting issues with almost every single game i play. Turning off AA in game should help you with some issues. If you want your AA back without flickering and stuff then force it trough CCC but you'll get weird white light border in conversations. Laurreth
Switching is not an option since I need the thing to run under Hippie OS, and nvidia has been so incompetent in that area that I don't intend to go back anytime soon.
