While lightsabers may be the thing that can make Star Wars into Star Wars, I think the era of this even longer time ago in a galaxy far far away opens up the possibilty of using more antique weponry. My favorite companion as an Imperial Agent (Vector Hyllus) is also damned to use the same stats and gear as Sith Inquisitors, but without the lightsaber. While he can use a fine but very limited assortment of Killik staffs, my Sith Assassins and nearly all the force using companion-ladies (beside Ashara Zavros) can't. If we cannot get Gaffi Sticks we will not get Killik staffs either, but at least nobody can say it was never suggested after this thread goes online.
