So is it plausible to think of a Sith who's aligned with the Republic because he/she sees it to be the winning side? Obviously, the Jedi probably would object. As for the Jedi, it depends on how the Sith is fighting for the Republic, if He/She commits war Crimes in the Republics name they can and do have the the authority to act against Him/Her. But if the Sith follows the general rules of war, and avoids targeting civillians, then they would have no authority to act against said Sith, even if the Sith was clearly ruthless and vicious (because he/she would be vicious against soldiers and other Sith). True hehas fought with the Republic, but it wasn't a permanent arrangement or because he thinks they are the winning side.
