game crashes trying to connect

i've tried using multiple isps and running the game as administrator and disabling every other program before launching it. as soon as i press "play" on the launcher, i get a flash of the loading screen then it vanishes and the game disappears (crashes or closes). game is totally unplayable since the last patch. the last patch also took 3 days to download and was unplayable during that entire time. WHAT IS THE POINT OF SUBSCRIBING TO A GAME I CANNOT USE?! fix this garbage and reimburse me or i will not be resubscribing ever again. thanks. oh, and also put in some kind of freaking way to actually contact freaking support from outside of the freaking game. otherwise there's no freaking way to freaking do it when the game doesn't freaking work at all and we have to freaking post on the freaking forums instead. this is stupid crap.

 

Also... Why does the login screen say security codes are OPTIONAL but won't let you ever login without one?

First, there is a way to contact Customer Support outside of the game: the Customer Service Forum at http://www.swtor.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=11 .

 

Second, try the tips given out by Customer Support here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=419492 and here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=498597 . I had the same problem as you did back around 2.1 and had to use the "Repair" option on the Launcher to fix it.

 

Third, security codes are optional, but if you start to use one, you must use it every time until you remove it from the account. If you don't want to use it anymore, do a forum search for "removing security key."

 

Finally, please do not rant: it helps nothing and only gets in the way of your questions.
