danbernard Posted August 24, 2013 Share Posted August 24, 2013 The United Republic Forces (U.R.F.) was formed by the Republic Supreme Chancellor with no affiliation with the Republic Military. They would take the best the republic had to offer and accept outside help if they wished but they would not answer to anyone but their own commander, Marshal Kai’us Syphex. The Jedi order would also have a hand in their upbringing, adding members of their already short supply of Jedi Knights and Masters. Their conception had been made necessary by the Galactic Cold war following the Empire’s forced surrender of the Republic. Few forgot how the Empire lured their leaders away under pretense of peace talks only to lay waste to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and force the Republic to surrender and sign a peace treaty of their own design. A defense of some sort was required, and one that could not easily be infiltrated by the Empire. It’s obvious to anyone that remembers that day, the Empire cannot be trusted to keep its word.
