Elfa
Give us the option to place buy orders on the GTN. It'll help sellers fill what people want and allow buyers to let the sellers know what they want. Best of all, it will clear up some of the Fleet chat congestion.

Elfa
Well, it works well in other games and I think it deserves to be here.

Elfa
Well, you might need to limit people to one buy order at a time and definitely 2 days. The last thing you want is people trying to scoop everything up on the cheap like other games.
DmdShiva
Well, you might need to limit people to one buy order at a time and definitely 2 days. The last thing you want is people trying to scoop everything up on the cheap like other games. An alternative is to set it up similarly to the auction house in City of Heroes -- when you look up an item, you can see the price that the last five items sold for (and the date of sale, so you can judge how fast an item is moving), how many are available for purchase, and how many bids there are on that item, but you can't see either the bids or the prices that were set on the items when they were put in for auction. When you enter a bid on an item, if your bid price is over any of the threshold prices for the items up for bid, you buy the lowest-threshold item for your bid price. For example, if you were bidding on an item that had five in the market, and they had prices of 1000, 2000, 2500, 2750, and 3000 credits, if you bid less than 1000, you wouldn't meet any of the reserve prices, so your bid would sit there taking up a bid slot until you removed it. If you bid 1000 -- or any amount higher than 1000 -- you would get the item listed for 1000; if you'd bid 10,000, you'd pay 10,000 for the item, and the player who'd listed the item for 1000 would get a much better payoff than they expected. Lowballing an item can work both for and against the lister -- if you have an item that routinely goes for, say, 500,000, and there are ten of them on the market, if you list yours for 500, you will almost certainly sell it to the next person to bid on that item, but if they bid 1000 to see if they can catch someone doing an extreme lowball listing, you would lose out on the opportunity to make substantially more on the item in your excessive haste to have it turn over quickly. It was also possible to bid on quantities of an item, so you could, say, bid on five blue Reflex Mod 9 for X credits each as a single bid (limited in CoH to ten of an item per bid slot). Characters got a number of slots that could be used for either sale or bid (the number went up as you leveled, but how that worked could be juggled as appropriate for balance); that part would probably have to work differently based on what I've seen of the amount of gear that gets put up on the GTN. Elfa
That's a great idea. Anything that could allow us a better way to economize is a good thing.
Falgaroth
I'm actually stunned that this feature isn't in SWTOr already from the get go .. it is such a common idea in every trading game that it has to be standard.

Agreed. Nice to see that people are still bewildered by it's absence.
