Personal RP/preference was more important than being locked to a very small part of the storyline. Bioware claimed that a sith pureblood could not be a slave and thus we didn't have sith pureblood inquisitors in beta. But sith pureblood is such a major part of the empire and sith that they quickly tossed it in there. (Luckily for me and a bunch of other people.
