Sickboy_
Are the books just being shoved aside? I can't imagine the new movies following the storylines of the books or referencing them.
Doctoglethorpe
Are the books just being shoved aside? I can't imagine the new movies following the storylines of the books or referencing them. The answer is simply "probably" Though to be clear, Lucas himself already outlined the trilogy. So technically it will be his fault.

jovianus
So reading those star wars books was just a big waste of time. Figures. Why? Did you enjoy the books? Did you enjoy the stories? If so, why does it matter if they're not technically 'canon'? It's not like you were ever going to see Thrawn or Palpatine's Clones or 99.9999% of everything n the EU ever appear or be mentioned in the movies anyway., so essentially nothing changes except your own perceptions.
