langaandy
I never normally cosplay due to my not really caring, but with this years Supanova australia coming up i had a think about it. I found this - http://www.buystarwarscostumes.com/chewbacca_authentic.html Now thats pricey, and cant be shipped to aus but it did bring up one huge issue, it is small( pun intended). maybe not for some but 177cm is small. I found this is the same thing for every costume i have looked at. Admittedly it is pretty much a make your own situation i am in as i am a big person( 199cm and solid build). Does anyone know a good way to make a wookie outfit.

Ryeko
Lots and lots of Mohair and Yak hair....although that may get a little pricey depending on the availability in your area.
Ailie
Not hard at all, go to your local Spotlight and buy metres of brown fake fur. Ask the ladies there to help you find a pattern of somthing like a basic tracksuit or they may have a similar style costume in the books. Then it's a matter of knowing someone with a sewing machine and a bit of time up your sleeve. The hardest part is the mask which you would likely be better off buying, but you'd honestly be suprised at how readily available that kind of thing is.
