Darth_Loof
Hey guys I had a question concerning events between episode 3 and episode 4. In episode 3 the Jedi are getting wiped out yet the galaxy knows of thier existence. In the 18 or 20 years that follow episode 3 and that lead to episode 4 the very existence of the force is almost non existant. It's called an old religion by the moff on the Death Star whom is old enough to remember that time. it's called also a hokey religion by Han Solo. Has it ever been addressed how the emperor wiped out all knowledge of the Jedi in less than 20 years?

Has it ever been addressed how the emperor wiped out all knowledge of the Jedi in less than 20 years? The Jedi Purge was like a good old fashioned book burning. Take all Jedi knowledge we can lay our hands on and wipe it out. Of course much still survived, hence Luke was able to rebuild the Jedi Order at a later date. Also, the average person didn't really know much beyond rumors about jedi before the Jedi were wiped out, so afterwards it really did seem like a hokey religion to common people.
