DENTWAX Posted February 13, 2013 Share Posted February 13, 2013 Since this morning i have a new pc, running on windows 8. Ive intsalled the game without any problems. When starting the game launcher all is well too. However, after pressing "play", i see the loading screen for a few seconds before the game closes without any messages. DJPeeper Posted February 14, 2013 Share Posted February 14, 2013 I've read that you need to change the Compatibility Mode To Windows XP for some windows 7 and 8 users. DO that by STAR<Right Click SWTOR<Properties<Compatibility Mode<Check the Box that says RUN THIS PROGRAM IN "Compatibility Mode" Scroll the list to Windows XP<Restart your computer<Open Game<"PLAY". Just in case others might encounter the same problem, this is the problem has been solved for me. I installed a video detection program for my new video card. When running swtor, the program told me that it was set to x86 (windows 8) bit while swtor should run on x64 bit. At the same time, that program asked me if i wanted to change the settings to 64 bit.
