Aim or Power ( Diminishing returns)

So in reference to Bounus damage:

You seem to get alittle more damage per point with Aim then you do with power ( the difference is very small ). However, is there diminishing returns on Aim for Bounus damage? If there is does anyone know how much Aim you can have before DR?

No and no.

If you have a 9% bonus to your primary stat from talents it will give the same amount of bonus damage as power, but it will never give more than power does.

There are no diminishing returns at all for bonus damage though, although there is for the crit bonus provided by primary stat - that DR is so small that it can be completely ignored though.

If you have no points in the aim talent, it's basically a wash between the two. If you have even 1 point, aim will always be better (at current attainable gear levels) than power.

Feel safe going aim always.

Power is .23 bonus dmg per point

Aim is .2 bonus dmg per point plus some .0058....% crit

Last I checked the crit from aim has no DR but I've heard it starts heavy at 2200; You should only be paying attention to crit rating not the percent.

Aim is better with 9% talent, the overall damage gains are debatable without it.

Don't forget that Aim is double-buffed by class buffs as well. You get an extra 5% stat from Mark of Power, and then it gets the same 5% boost to Bonus Damage that Power does from Unnatural Might. So the gap on Bonus Damage is *smaller* than the .03 that it would be unbuffed.

The crit from Aim does have a DR, but it doesn't "start heavy" at any point. It has a very flat slope, compared to some other stats. In the 2200-2400 range, there is enough DR on main stat crit boost that it's virtually a toss up between Power and main stat assuming no main stat buffing talent. By the upper end of the 2000s (e.g. 2500+) Power edges ahead by a minute fraction.

Basically irrelevant for PTs as they don't have enough Aim in PVP gear to have that come into play, and a TD-less PVE build including the +Aim talent is generally a DPS gain over a 31 point Pyro build, thus making Aim significantly better at current gear levels.

There are no diminishing returns on bonus damage for aim. There are diminishing returns on crit for aim. However, it is very small to a point where aim will always provide more damage when you incorporate crits.
