OlosBC
Its different for each class depending on how much crit your spec uses/wants. For assault its around 250-ish in DG gear, prob a bit lower in camp/BH. As long as you're sorta close though, its not much of a difference. Omophorus
Generally speaking, you'll see a minuscule difference between 100 and 300 Crit Rating, though every PVE DPS should make sure they have at least 123 (3x iLevel 61 Crit mods/enhancements). 328 is often quoted as a "high water" mark for DPS (though that's not a strictly accurate number, it's just 8x 61 Crit mods/enhancements), and should generally not be exceeded. For most specs, 150-250 is the "sweet spot" (though, as other responses have noted, it varies class to class), usually with a tiny bias towards the low end of that spectrum. The theorycraft bears out that few, if any, DPS specs see more than about a 1% variance between 100 and 300 rating (the increased crit rate is almost perfectly offset by the lost bonus damage, and vice versa), though naturally peoples' "butt dyno"/anecdotal/non-scientific results will vary. People advocate higher crit builds most frequently because they got a parse result with some lucky crit rolls and generalized it to be their average performance, when in fact it was a statistical anomaly and their mean DPS is significantly lower.
