LordQordisz
Just wondering, did age effect Dooku as it did Qui-Gon?
Rhyltran
Just wondering, did age effect Dooku as it did Qui-Gon? Probably not as much as it did Qui Gon. The problem with Qui Gon is he uses a style known as Ataru. Ataru is the most physically demanding and acrobatic of the styles. As you get older you lose your flexibility, agility, stamina, and energy. These are bad combinations for an acrobatic style focused on mobility. Dooku on the other hand uses a dueling style that uses as little motions as possible. Focusing mostly on footwork and wrist motions (much like fencers.) it wouldn't be as much of a strain on his body as it would Qui Gon.
LordQordisz
So what about Yoda with the same style basically? He's old as dirt. Different physiology or something else? Wasn't Palpatine a Juyo guy? He was fast as hell and I believe was older than Qui-Gon when he fought Mace.

Yes that's true, but while Yoda was the 3rd and Sidious was the 2nd most powerful force user ever, Qui-Gon is not even top 10 of his generation. Rhyltran
So what about Yoda with the same style basically? He's old as dirt. Different physiology or something else? Wasn't Palpatine a Juyo guy? He was fast as hell and I believe was older than Qui-Gon when he fought Mace. Sidious and Yoda respectively mastered all the forms of lightsaber combat. Yoda is only but is by far the most powerful force user (on the light side) of his time whereas Sidious is the most powerful Dark Side user. You can use the force to amplify your capabilities. Speed, reflexes, and strength. Qui Gon wasn't close to as powerful as Yoda or Sidious and therefore couldn't amplify himself the way they could. Yoda always conserved his energy by using hover chairs and walking very slowly until he needed to fight. This allowed him the power to be acrobatic and agile in combat. The Path of the Jedi handbook actually states Yoda by Revenge of the Sith is much weaker than he was in the past. There's some massive stones in the meditation chamber and he used to be able to lift all of them. By this point in time he can lift all but two (which is still a massive feat). Basically Yoda is so powerful a weakened Yoda is still far more powerful than anyone else.
