THorsblood Posted September 6, 2012 Share Posted September 6, 2012 As a Power tech it's really beneficial to get the 31 point skill in any of the tree's by not doing so you loose DPS or utility. Though i did hear of a hybrid that worked but it was PvP only and was very hard to master in order to make it worth playing. any way that's my 2 creds P.S. the knife skill crapola as it hits for little and the dot takes to long with to small of damage its only ever used as a slow. Right now all the spec of the month is Pyro as it lets you rail shot often and do huge amounts of DPS, although it may be nerfd soon as there is a lot of QQ about this spec doing to much damage to quickly, and i don't have a link for that spec because i don't personally use it, as my BH is a tank, and she's fun as hell to play xD a 30 meter pull AND 30 meter leap...to cool! I know people will debate that and call me out on it, but long story short, it does not. I've seen those builds at play, fought them in PvP, tried them myself, and nothing is better than a full tree build. Certainly not as a tank/DPS hybrid. The closest-to-good hybrid build I've seen is this one, DPS. http://db.darthhater.com/skill_calc/bounty_hunter/powertech/#::fef5ef5ef6e2fef6efefe2f5e5fe2f5ef2e: This build sacrifices some burst for sustained DPS through the extra DoT combined with the rapid-fire Rail Shot. I had some fun with it but overall it does the same amount of damage as Pyro and AP while giving up a lot of versatility and the best Powertech DPS abilities. So I got rid of it and now use a Pyrotech build for DPS and PvP. If you want defense and damage, you're better off with a tank build, which honestly does more than enough damage on it's own, probably more than the other two tank classes. With Mako and Torian I soloed all the 2-mans past Balmorra and most of the 4-man Heroic Missions as well. This build is so good people in the PvP forums have made multiple threads calling for a nerf bat. So, we have Advanced Prototype for that.
