They did not loot my corpse for an item that I had on me but, he was rewarded with something though for killing me. He knelt down right over me and picked something up. Why would he be rewarded for taking me by surprise and basically murdering my mid-lvl character. It just doesn't make sense. Wait though, here's the thing, were you engaged with a an NPC baddie at the time? Or what exactly were you doing? Point being if you were engaged with a baddie, and he swept in and got aggro from your companion, killing both you, your companion and said baddie, there would be something for them to pick up from baddie. Not from you. Just because he was standing over you at the time he bent down to pick it up only means he was facing you at the time not that you were what was looted. Just saying because I don't think anyone wants to jump the gun on something like that, because then it becomes something for the devs to test and waste time when there are other issues that could use their attention rather than based on a single incident. I'm not trying to be baggy here, I just don't know that the evidence supports it. I wasn't looted when I got jacked. Not saying it didn't look like he looted you, I'm just having issues with the idea that there were no baddies in the area you were hunting. In my case the 2 level 50's jacked me when I was engaged with a MOB, so yeah, if the glitch is that my companion is able to put me into PvP without a dialog box popping up, that's one thing, it's a whole other to say that not only can that be done but also you can be looted like that. Hopefully some high-enough level players will show up to fight them... This is especially true on pvp servers... Truth. And most players tend to be really helpful. On Tatooine a few weeks ago, there was a bunch of Republic scum blocking the entrance to the Czerka lab in the Dune Sea.
