Black Hole - adjust respawn?

Monday night, on Ebon Hawk, there were 53 people on in the Black Hole while I was doing my daily quests. This caused problems of varying severity for all of us.

 

The worst problem was Stage 2 of Criminal Crackdown. I probably spent 20 or more minutes flying around looking for those weapons containers that had not yet been blown up. I ended up camping a container in order to catch it as soon as it respawned. Ideally, I would like to see 6 or 8 more containers, but that might be problematic as far as places to put them. Perhaps they could be located in the area to the south of where Stage 3 happens? There's an unused area behind some gates that no one has a motive to run into right now. A quicker and hopefully easier solution would be to adjust the refresh time to about half of what it is now.

 

Forced Labor was also pretty bad. I didn't get an accurate count, but I had the impression of 20 or more people being in there. Folks were ninjaing cages away from each other, running into mobs in order to get at the cage and sorting out the combat later, and again, the solution seemed to be to camp cages through two or three mob respawns in order to get at them when they refresh. My ideal solution here would be to turn this into an instance like Eyes and Ears. However, a quicker fix would be again, to refresh the cages more often.

 

The toxic waste repair mission occasionally has some waiting, but I have never spent 20 or 30 minutes running in circles trying to complete it, so my personal impression is that the refresh time for the leaks is almost right, although it might need some tweaking.

 

This is an unintended consequence, I'm sure, of making Black Hole gear awesome and the server transfers putting more people into the servers than most servers had to support previously. I'll take the current situation to the population problem - at least I never have to worry about finding a group for heroics anymore.

Just a few hours before you posted this....

And I'm sure dozens of other times.

 

The crates would be an easy fix if they would just expand the area it covers. There are at least a dozen more such crates in the southern area where Imps do their dailies.

Agree with this, from the Imperial side.

 

Would like to suggest that it would probably just be easier to adjust the number of mobs needed to be killed/crates that need to be destroyed. Considering that most of the crates that need to be destroyed (at least for the Imp version of the BH dailies) are guarded by a group of 4 mobs, you end up killing more mobs than the first quest requires, especially if it's a busy time.

People have been complaining about this for a long time, since pre 1.3. The supposedly fixed this, but by that their "quality of life" fix was only two separate instance with a 60 player cap...

 

Respawns need to be faster, and probably another 4 boxes added. The limit should also be brought down to 30 or 35. At this point it becomes just competitive enough to be a small nuisance but still easily doable. The free the engineers quest needs to be phased and re designed to accommodate that, their easy fix.
