23/7/11 sage healer PvP post 1.2

Updated to include HD video:

Tried this build out last night and it worked pretty well. Managed to top the chart in the first wz with 80k damage and 224k healing, then did my next game and got 170k damage and 205k healing. Then I went to raid so that's all the data I have at the moment. I wear full BM gear with 2 pieces of rakata for the healing trance buff.

Basically the way i've been playing it is to keep Force in Balance and weaken mind up on as many players as possible. Weaken mind being the most important because with the skill in the seer tree it allows you to kite the whole attacking group pretty much. For healing I use healing trance as my go to heal whenever I notice someone taking damage, followed by the autocrit benevolence (the double dip bug still exists fyi). Deliverance is still plenty usable if you've gotten yourself out of sight from the enemy deeps (most puggers won't even look). As a 32/7/2 healer pre patch, having the increased DPS from the telekinetics tree is freaking awesome, if 1 person ganks you slow em down with weaken mind and double project ftw :)

Any comments / critiques are welcome.

No.

Why? Because force management is now a dire issue, you can NOT afford to throw projects, FiB and weaken mind anywhere. You need to save what force you have because you're not gonna get it back.

Nah... You will die before you will have the chance to run out of force.

At least there's some feedback, but since you don't think it's viable here's some screenshots to show the numbers. I'm uploading a youtube vid atm (40 mins away at time of posting) and i'll update this post to include it too.

You are correct in assuming force management is a huge issue. I stopped spamming weaken mind because it does eat through the force too quickly to keep up on everyone, I just save it to slow the people who are focusing me. All in all though, if you aren't a scrub that sprints from one fight to the next, and take your time to recuperate at least to 60-80% force, your force should last at least a full minute if not longer in a fight.

However, that being said this is primarily a SUPPORT build. If you run into a group of 2 alone and think hey im gonna solo them with my super leet heals and OP project then yes you're gonna go OOF very quickly. But, if you go in with one other person, I PvP with a shadow, healing trance your guard, spam benevolence as your guard gets low and use project and force in balance to crank up the DPS on your attackers, it freaking owns in this situation.

Also, the heals in this spec come primarily from preemptive healing, bubble everyone that's being attacked as soon as possible. This build is nice in that just about everything can be done while moving, which is HUGE for PvP. I only stop to quickly HT or benevolence when necessary, otherwise I try and stay moving.

I would advise anyone to try it at the very least, it's an incredibly fun build. As you can see from the screenshots, you can be more DPS or more healing depending on what the WZ needs. Just remember you won't top the DPS with 500k damage or top the heals with 500k healing. My best round so far was 260k damage and 250k healing though, so a nice middle ground can be achieved :)

I can EASILY push 100k healing as dps only using force armor on myself and my teammates and I am only level 46 on my sage. As complete healing spec I was pulling about 200k in 1.2, whilst I pulled 400k before.

100k healing + 250k dmg as dps

or

200k healing as pure healing spec.

It seems pretty obvious which to pick.

Even at 400k+ healing pre 1.2 didn't even ensure a win. I lost just as much as I won, despite the fact I dominated healing. A lot of the times the other team didn't even have a healer.

Though, I was damn near unkillable, I will say that, but that is because I knew when to run away, use CC, and kite. A healer should be able to keep himself alive, especially on 1v1, otherwise *** is the point? Even then if the opposing team put 1 good sentinel or some other dps on me, it all but eliminated my ability to heal anyone but myself.

From my observation in pvp below level 50, the sage healing was fine. Now though, its completely unplayable. I can throw preemptive shields and pull half the healing using Force armor with a dps spec FFS!!!

200k is not the new norm for healing in WZ. There was a post by a sage getting over 600k healing earlier today in 1.2. I've also seen sages hit over 500k damage in WZ since 1.2. What I'm proposing, however, is blend of the two. I'm typically hitting the 75k healing 75k damage within a minute of one another. It continues like that most of the fight unless I notice we have 0 or 2+ healers and then primarily do whichever is needed.

For some reason the youtube video didn't upload, i'm trying to upload through windows movie maker now.

Added the video (first post), it was filmed at 4 in the am yesterday so there were some tired mistakes in there like running through fire haha. I'm uploading a civil war now to give a feel for a match that isn't huttball.

edit: I came into the game and the score was 0-3. Started recording 2 mins after that because it looked promising.
