I'm wondering if this spec:

Running high energy gas cylinder would be viable, you get jet charge and grapple and a root on grapple, but no snare and its tied to RP dmg making me wonder if it's iffy, you get 15% run speed boost and basically no heat problems, and high survivability.

 

My question is whether you think it would be too hard to stick to a person with just jet charge and no snare. Thoughts?

you will need a snare. Absolutely no doubt about it.

 

Run speed buff sounds like decent compensation but in reality you'll be snared yourself in most cases.

 

Sad thing is the IGC snare is 2 secs, but minimum CD in RP is 4.5 secs. (Pyro is linked to FB so even though same duration it can be up permenantly) Although you get JC in compensation.

 

Still wouldn't run without a snare though in PVP :)

If he's running HEGC then the snare from the ST tree wouldn't proc anyway. The 15% speed boost might compensate for the loss of snare since it's up 100% and jet charge will provide an additional gap closer.

 

That being said, the 8/31/2 spec will probably perform better if you want to use HEGC. Most of the stuff in the ST tree is going to benefit more from IGC

Is that not the exact same thing? Just your version is bit more dumbed down? It's pretty obvious that the choices are HEGC for run speed and IGC for snare is it not?

 

What is it with people needing the obvious stated ?

If you are snared 100% of the time... how does your own 2 sec snare help you?

 

In 1.2 the AP tree will get a 6 sec 30% snare added to retractable blade, giving the 8/31/2 build a longer snare and 15% constant speed boost along with Hydraulic Override's 8 seconds of 30% speed boost with immunity to snares/physics.

 

Any spec that goes deep enough into the Shield Tech tree to get Jet Charge will get more use from IGC.
