venomred
I'm a Sith Warrior trying to upgrade my armor to Heavy. Is this even possible? I understand the mods (somewhat) but I keep recieveing items that say "heavy armor required". Can I upgrade my Warrior to heavy armor, or no? Thanks
Hi_Im_A_Sith
If you're a warrior, you need to be a juggernaut to wear heavy armor.
Bobsy
As a basic warrior, no. Heavy armour is restricted to Sith Juggernauts, the advanced class that can specialise in tanking or DPS. Unspecialised warriors and Sith Marauders can only wear medium armour.
Mithros
As noted, heavy armor proficiency is required to wear heavy armor, and for a Sith warrior to get heavy armor proficiency, they must choose the Juggernaut AC. There is no other way to 'train' armor proficiency. It is determined entirely by class/AC choice. Trooper/BH = Heavy armor Smuggler/Agent = medium armor Consular/Inquisitor = light armor Knight/Warrior = medium (sentinel/marauder) or heavy (guardian/juggernaut) For orange gear the overlays do not matter as far as determining the type. The orange armor is light, medium, or heavy. The overlay just gives you an armor rating, and depending upon the type of armor that you wear, that rating will offer more or less actual armor value. You will want to use overlays with the appropriate stats, of course, but that is another discussion. For now, all that matters is that they do not affect armor type in any way.
