Why use Advanced probe?

Recommended Posts

Is there a reason I should be using the Advanced medical probe? i mean its not much faster or stronger the regular so why should i even bother touching it? I just think bioware should try and fix this because iam a healer and i feel the healing skills were sorta neglected thats all, so does anyone agree? Edited by XxTorpedoHeadxX

I'm guessing you're still relatively low level -- Advanced Medical Probe just starts out as a quick-casting heal with a cooldown.

However, once you hit level 27 you can have 3/3 points into Field Triage, which makes Advanced Medical Probe a great throughput enhancer by reducing the ammo cost of Medical Probe.

Then at 32, you can get Preventative Medicine and Armor Screen, which adds a HOT and armor buff to AMP.

Why use AMP? Because its awesome.

AMP+MP = same cost as MP.

AMP = HOT, Armor Buff, low cost MP.

AMP = freeness with SCC. Blast away with AMP/MP.

I know these were stated in the other threads, but felt I should state them again so the greatness of AMP is learned through repetition. AMP is your primary ability as a Combat Medic.

Thanks alot guys the AMP seems more powerful now, and btw yeah iam only lvl 25 so yeah you were right

Advanced med probe is one of those powers that feels meh at first until you get the proper specialisations for it. Then you go: Holy *bleep*, how did I ever do without this?

Hmm, yea. Field Triage, which you can have at 3/3 earliest at lv. 27, is the very reason why i say, the Commando only is a healer lv. 27+. Before that, ammo handling issues make you the weakest of all healers around.
