Qwjibo
Your chance to participate in real research! (Note: not to be confused with Cave Johnson’s interpretation of research! ) To participate, please coordinate your participation with one online gaming partner. This should be someone what you know in the gaming environment and with whom you have spent sufficient time to know each other at least to some degree (e.g. a guild mate). Please agree with your gaming partner on a pass phrase known only to the two of you that can be used to link your responses with each other. If you interact with each other using more than one character (avatar), please also agree on which pair of online characters (avatars) are the focus for the purpose of the study. In order to participate you and your gaming partner will also need to be 18 years or older. In this study we are interested in the relationship between how you perceive yourself and your online character and how your character and you are in turn perceived by someone who knows you through your character in the gaming environment. For ethical reasons we cannot send you the match between you and your friend directly. However, you will have the option to request that your results are sent to you via email. If you and your friend use this offer you can compare the results on an individual level directly. The survey is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/K7D9X9V. It will take no more than 15 minutes to complete. Thank you so much for your contribution to science! Qwjibo
Thank you! If you are interested in the general findings of the study (beyond your individual responses) please feel free to send an email to the contact address listed in the study. Of course the sooner enough people participate the sooner results can be evaluated
