Slowmojo Posted March 3, 2012 Share Posted March 3, 2012 How well does Pyro go for Mercs?I play a Vanguard as my main for now, but i'm leaning towards Merc lately. I've been Assault Spec (pyro equivalent) as my Vanguard with great success.But looking at the Merc talents, it looks less effective then the Vanguard/PT version. As in, no 60% armor ignore talents or 6% more damage on Rail Shot. I'm refusing to be Arsenal for obvious reasons. Mainly because i don't like the playstyle of it.So my other dps option is Pyrotech. So where do the strenghts of a Merc Pyro lie? They're less mobile then PTs, however more mobile then Arsenal, but have the advantage of range. So that balances out.But my main concern is the difference between Rail Shots effective damage compared to a PT due to the lack of talents that improve it as Merc.Aswell as not being able to apply Combustable Gas dot reliably (Fire Blast).
