Pathlight-
As a DPS commando, what will give me the highest DPS (I'm mostly interested in pvp) : crit/surge or power ? If crit/surge, would it make sense to forgo power completely in favor of them ? Edited February 20, 2012 by Pathlight-
Kutalion
Power is by far the best scaling stat.
Pathlight-
Sounds good. Will have to reform my stats in favor of power. Thanks.
Aerodi
If you're trying to optimize your stats, then getting 250-300 surge is recommended. The diminishing returns as you pass 300 is so high that it essentially makes it useless. Using the low endurance high crit/surge enhancements are good for PvE, but since that isn't your focus, you'll want the high endurance versions that have even less crit. Which leads to other issues. Since we're talking about PvP, sustained dps isn't quite as important as it is in the PvE environment. Though it should not be dismissed. Fighting against good teams that los and cross heal will very much test your ammo management. As a dps commando you very much rely on the Cell Charger skill to help out with that, and having low crit along with large amounts of alacrity will severely hurt it's effectiveness. Kutalion
When you get full set of your gear, swap enhancements with scoundrel Champion DPS hat. It has: +23 end +34 power +48 surge. You can mix it with the one that has crit-surge, but eventually you'll have too much surge (not that good stat) since there is no power+crit enhancements atm. From what i can tell 32-35% crit, 70-75% crit multiplier is more then enough, going full power after that maximizes the gains. Strive for about 750 bonus tech damage with the stats above and you'll do fine. Just remember power has almost no diminishing returns, so stacking power after aim is the way to go.
