Pappus Posted February 1, 2012 Share Posted February 1, 2012 This is position allocation delay, what this basically means is that no enemy, unless he stood in place for several seconds, is where you see him. If you see him walking straight, then in your head imagine him running 1.5 seconds further at all times, this is a good indication where he might be, so what really happens for your smash is, that in reality he is not in range of it to begin with you have to be running in front of him to get him. This is also the reason why you sometimes get knockbacks in directions you shouldn't fly given the positioning on your screen, or why tracer missiles won't immediately break when you LoS them. This is commonly referred to as delay, which is quite high and has nothing to do with a bad ping, although a bad ping would even increase that occurence.
