Question from a newb BH player

Quite a few posts in here to figure out the answer... don't mean to come off rude...

BUT, but bottom line:

Merc - Ranged/Healer

Power - Melee/Tank

Don’t worry, I normally would, but I’ve been researching five other classes the same way (haunting the threads for information) so you’ll forgive a bit more blunt approach. Plus, most threads deal with some particular of a class or AC, and you get to pore over dozens of threads to piece together a coherent picture of the advanced classes’ different strengths and weaknesses (all determined by player opinion)

To expand a bit on the previous answer: Both PT and Merc are fully capable of going the DPS route, as each has 2 trees dedicated to the role.

PT has 1 tanking tree and 2 DPS trees.

Merc has 1 healing tree and 2 DPS trees.

PT tends to do their damage at melee to close range.

Merc tends to do their damage at medium to long range.

PT tends to be more mobile with a greater number of instant cast attacks.

Merc tends to stay in place a little more as they have more attacks with a cast time.

Here’s a super important question: which AC gets death from above (think that’s the name…the one where the BH flies into the air and blasts everyone below)?

DFA is your class skill, not the advanced class power. Meaning you're getting that power at lvl10 BH regardless of your advanced class selection.

DFA is def the coolest animation for an attack in the game hands down. Wish they would make a healing version of it called Kolto Spray or something like that so us healers get to use our jetpacks more often than the occasional jet boost.
