Hironobu
Click on it. It should take you to a new page that reads like Inbox contains 0 messages. You have 1 messages stored, of a total 500 allowed. And now the mail icon has a "1" on it. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?! I have a mail message that I can't get access to and it is driving me nuts. All of my folders are empty. Is it some crappy welcome message?
Chillwolf
It is the 4 digit pin number that opened the door to the executive bathroom. It is nice in here, little shell shaped soaps, monogrammed towels, and a big cushy couch. I am sorry you cannot get your code
Exhorder
It's probably leftover artifacts from the forum wipe. More than likely it's an old message that was deleted, yet the notifier that you have a message wasn't removed.

I think I am going to try to save my nonexistent mail message to the best of my abilities forever. It will remain with me like a Knight in Digital Satin. I'll keep it as a memorial of this day back in 2011 when companies used to release games half-finished and buggy with backwards flying dragons. Millions of dedicated and paying customers were shafted with long waiting lines even as they had already payed and as the company knew that there would be a high demand. Ahhh yes, the hilariously stupid problems of the modern digital world
