During this time period, pre battle of Russan, Hoth either doesn't have a name or has an older forgotten name. The planet was named after the Jedi General, Hoth, who commanded Jedi and Republic forces on the planet of Russan, the final confrontation between the republic and the empire. The republic won (just barely) and the Sith were destroyed (largely by thier own machinations against one another) Or so the Jedi believed. One Sith survived...Darth Bane.
