Why the state of PvP mitigation is a good thing

Mate, I see where you're coming from and of course, some higher level of control and other defense abilities would improve our survivability and utility as PVP tanks, but is all needful in my opinion.

 

At 50 we have 3 controls - cryo grenade, electro-dart and quell on a decent cooldown.

 

A talented full damage absorb shield on a 90 sec CD would serve sufficiently.

 

Give that to ST, improve our 25% dmg reduction shield with a talent, allowing a full absorb for a certain number of dmg for 10 secs. That would serve admirably, without drastically increasing our mobility or utility.

 

I note you also see my point; as tanks, we should outlast, not out dps. Assuming even gear levels and skill level, we should draw with RNG determining the final winner.

 

However, back to the main flow of the topic; the state of pvp mitigation; IF we were given better itemized PVP tank gear, we wouldn't need all that.
