Tires Posted January 5, 2012 Share Posted January 5, 2012 Assault spec still uses the Advanced Class' primary damage method. For Vanguards that is Ion pule and Melee abilities. For Commandos that is ranged shooting with cannons and stuff. You cant build a ranged Vanguard that works. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Ariakkas Posted January 5, 2012 Share Posted January 5, 2012 sort of depends on what you're going for. for trash clears, you can easily incendiary round and hammer shot stuff, with the occasional HIB, explosive round and stay at range. its not really worth it to me to run up close in melee range and chase mobs around however, for elites and bosses, you absolutly have to be in melee range for shockstrike and ion pulse.
