Have you force-closed the launcher in the task manager, and then tried to restart (after waiting for several seconds)?
Yes, and it is always the same result. As is a restart, even a clean restart and pretty much every other option one could try, they launcher is just not showing up.

My launcher doesn't even get displayed or shows up in the taskbar. Had also an issue with Battle.net, but that finally started (not tried to play a game there yet), but my SWTOR is still doing nothing even though my task manger tells me it is running.

I have a similar issue, my launcher is not showing up when I start it. The task manager says it is running, but I see nothing of it, not even in the taskbar. If I start it again, I get the massage it cannot be run twice, and that massage is showing up in the taskbar.

I tried everything, my launcher just is not starting at all. It shows in my task manager, but nothing else. I de-installed even the whole game and after the launcher repair did nothing. And still the same result, the launcher just is not showing up.
I could play on Monday, and since my launcher didn't worked today I have not patched yet (but now I have to download the whole game anyway). I have no clue what else I could try.

I don't care much for a streak and play always ow it feels right for a character, I guess I will grind the Light V and Dark V with Diplomacy at one point, but overall I don't care much for either side to win, even though I think I take a little more often light side choices than dark side ones. I think both companions look nice, and I hope that either way it will be an interesting story that comes out of this event.

BioWare should really rethink that reward program to get people subscribed, since it seems all it does, is piss off players who are already sunscribed.

It really seems like the female companions are put in first and foremost as love interests while the male companions are a lot more varied in species, personality, role, age, etc...It kind of leaves you with the impression of female=the waifu, male=everything else.
Makes me wonder, is there even a romanceable female character in the game that has body type 3 or 4?

I recently returned to WoW after an 8+ year absence. I like Hunters, so I made a new Hunter to reorient myself to the game. It took me a while to figure out that the "pets" for which the Pet Tamer NPCs were giving me quests were not my Hunter pets.
I'm not usually very territorial when it comes to class skills, but I confess feeling like my Hunter had been somewhat abated by the addition of pet battles to WoW. Sort of like if SWTOR added a mini-game that allowed every class to see how far they can toss a light saber. I imagine some Warrior/Knight classes might say, "Hey, that's our thing!"
Now I just ignore the Pet Tamer quest icons (wish I could filter them off my map) and, hence, ignore pet battles in WoW.
I also returned recently to WoW after a similar long absence, and I played originally mostly also hunter, but I didn't do for it now, since I discoved my love for being tank since then. And I freaking love pet batteles in WoW. But I can understand that this might not appeal to everyone, but then simply do what Thoronmir describes in the queated post, ignore it and do the stuff you enjoy. Non-Hunter pets had been in WoW from the beginning, as have they in SWTOR, and I really think it is nice to have one more mini-game that some people might enjoy.

When I got my level 25 pack i got Darth Sion' Supplementary pack, it said it contained Belt, Bracers and Headgear but when i opened it, it only contained the belt (Sash). Was this just me or has this happened to everyone who got this gear pack?
Well, the Darth Sion set has no headgear and no bracers, so of course you won't get that in such a box.

KOTFE is not star wars nor will it ever really follow star wars story. its bioware making it up as they go because they havent been given any direction from disney yet.
so its not just pub side the imp side is a horrible mess as well.
I doubt Disney is that hands on here, but when they are, then I have to say I am all for it, since I think the KotFE content feels more like Star Wars then everything we had prior to it. All those pesky quest givers and their meaningless tasks are gone, and I get now a story that resolves around characters and decisions that feel like they are shaping the galaxy while still are based on very old themes. Whoever is in control right now, he or she got the monomyth to work in SWTOR! So, I am glad I don't have to deal with the petty faction fights, but get a epic story, and villains I can enjoy to hate, since before that most opponents where just one-offs, that is not very impresive, but now it feels like the fate of the galaxy is depending on my characters, regardless if I play empire or republic.

As has been mentioned in various posts, the losing companion most likely will wind up on the cartel market.
I expect that too, have even said so in various other threads... which is just one more reason why I don't care much which side win, since I probably will buy the other too at one point.

I wonder more about what will happen if the victory for one or the other side will be rather narrow... (looking at all the controvercy in the UK after the Brexit voting). Anyway, I guess somepeople will always be unhappy, regardless how this event turns out, and since I don't care either way which side wins or which companion I will get, I am going to play mostly to keep it balanced.

Since Pokemon Go is currently thing, I felt like necroing an old thread about pet battles, since I still would like to have that in SWTOR!

If BioWare would take that much time between new content as Blizzard does for World of WarCraft, then SWTOR would already be more than dead. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Blizzard (currently far too much Overwatch), but they are not without flaws, and even though I also play WoW, I think SWTOR is the better MMO (but I would like to have pet battles in SWTOR).

It doesn't count for the global light/dark score but you can use it to get the Light V/Dark V achievements.
Example: I want the light side to win, so I'll make light-side decisions in all cutscenes but on one character I use Diplomacy to get it to Dark V. That way, I contribute all points to the light side but can still get the Dark V achievement.
Sure, but since this threads seems to be about the overall dark/light points and thus the companion the event is giving us, so your Diplomacy posts don't add anything to the converastion at hand.

Well, the name "Season 1" has been used by developers. Season 1 usually means there will be a season 2. Unless it is a TV show that was cancelled last minute and the DVDs/whatever has already been planned out...
And the game isn't dead yet (ignore the forum posters who insist it is), so they will still have to maintain and develop new content to keep players playing and paying.
Pretty much this, also the next season probably will be called KotET, which causes some to speculate that this means Knight of the Eternal Thrown.

Keep in mind that if you don't want to help the other side win, you can also get your Light or Dark side points with Diplomacy. Takes a few credits and some time, but IMO it's still faster and more enjoyable than farming points with story quests or flashpoints.
And any points from Diplomacy missions don't count against the global score.
Didn't BioWare explicit said that Diplomacy is not going to count?

Sure, some people might be through everything the DvL event has to offer by the end of the month, but I wouldn't be too surprised if some people only going to renew their sub when the season 1 of KotFE is complete and play it only then and thus will also start with the DvL event only then, while plenty of people just will take their time and play other games on the side (just liek I play plenty of Overwatch and surely will also play WoW again when Legion hits).

So far I also just got stuff I already have (often enough even unlocked for the whole legacy already), at least I don't mind the decorations. But it is nevertheless kinda disappointing if one plays for a long time and hasbought quite a few cartel packs or the stuff from the GTN and spend coins to unlock it and then get it now where I cannot sell it or do anything with it execpt for deleting the item by throughing it away.

I don't mind that both are female, if just one would be female I am pretty sure that would mean most male players would just go for that side. Also, I think in general that men are more motivated to work towards getting a woman than women are willing to work to get a man (even with all the equality there is still plenty of people who have this tendency towards classical gender roles... and I have to say it is occationally weird that no male NPC in the game is initiating a flirt, but well at least nobody can complain about unwanted attention).
Anyway, I also hope that there will be a male force user that can be romanced implemented in the future. Until then I will try to enjoy this event and don't care much which of those two girls is going to become a companion (also, I wouldn'T be surprised if the other will end up in the cartel market).

I play in Europe (English Server-Tomb of Freedon Nadd). I have one char o 50th level and new char on 22 level...Only one free transfer?
What about warzones? I very like play pvp...
Like already mention, better move to Red Eclipse, that is where the people are. You can there change it to a PvP preference and thus still have open world PvP, and warzones pop often enough. Or you could simply start new characters there for the Dark vs Light event and get an impression first before moving your main. Sadly you missed the opportunity to move characters just for 90cc which was a thing for a while... and that mostly lead to the low pop server get abandoned even more.
