  1. Hello Ebon Hawk,

As you've probably guessed it, I am leaving again.

I've accumulated about 20 mil so far (I know that's not a lot but w/e) and I've decided to give them away. As of this moment I have 12..9 mil and 4 Resolve Hilt 34s, 1 Mass Manipulation Generators, 4 Isotope 5s, 18 Exotic Element Equalizers, and about 77 Carbonic Crystals and 77 Primordial Artifacts. I'm pretty sure they'll add up to 20 mil in market value.

I'm gonna change the rules a bit.

    1) Tell me why you want the creds and what you're planning to get with it.

I am recently returning from a long hiatus and will be restarting my guild up again. I certainly could use the credits to buy a galactic stronghold on Tatooine for my members to enjoy and decorate. I would greatly appreciate it if you would award me the credits. My name is Chyna in game.

  2. Stop squawking and instead see that this is a non-issue.

Yes they have taken away your free armour set, instead you can spend all of those saved planetary coms and buy the high level armouring and mods.

Are you one of these people who just want a "win" button?

I would not complain either save for the fact that armor mods on the Makeb vendor are 10 coms each and you only get a cap of 100 coms. At least let us buy the coms pre-50 so we can save for a full 50 set of mods during our lower levesl when we really dont use the planetary coms.

  3. East coasters server time isn't cutt of till 2 am try reading the thread toll.

And keep your nasty insinuations to yourself about peoples schedules.

It wasnt nasty. Its fact. Most people are in bed by midnight to work the next morning. If you are up at 2 am you either:

    1. Have no job (little kid/student, live at home with parents)

    2. Have a part-time 3-day a week job and no responsibility (kid/student, live at home with parents, mooch off your spouse, etc).

    3. Work at a job that requires odd hours and important like a policeman, docto, nurse, etc...

Now before you say you fall into catagory 3, consider the fact that you already admitted that you are playing an MMO and have time and energy to play between 12 and 2 am...

  4. Yes I do have a concern, it's the servers going down at 12am for west coasters and I would like Bioware knows us here on the left of the country thinks it sucks.

But since we are making juvenile poorly thought out declarations as fact here's mine, You don't matter to anyone, sorry.

You really have a concern? Really? Most east coasters are in bed by 12 am. Know why? Because most east coasters have something called a job that requires them to be up to perform around 6-7am. Most east coasters use that 6-7 hours to sleep.

I'm gathering the devs think you should also be in bed like the rest of us hard working Americans. Because they are [in bed sleeping] as well. :)

  5. My suggestion is to allow some way to make up for choices you wish you didn't make with a companion, particularly in the romance category. I'm not asking for an instant "do-over" but something creative and still effective.

    Example, using my case:

I stupidly ended a long-built and heavily invested in romance arc, netting a 400+ affection loss in that one dumb choice. (I was just trying to see what the different options led to by choosing them and ESC-ing out... I know, risky choice, and it was my own dumb fault). So, one way to make up for that could be to allow players to grind back up affection and get a [Flirt] option to the tune of "Hey, I'm sorry for saying that..." etc., and thus pick back up the romance arc.

    They're called companion gifts...

  6. Why couldn't he just use Quick Travel to go back to the first available Bind Point that is given to you by virtue of landing on the planet, which is usually near the spaceport? It's on a 15 minute cooldown.

Probably for the same reason his friend calls a locksmith for leaving his keys in the ignition of his locked convertable automobile (with the top down).

  7. Hutts need love to. Hutts are both male and female, and should be abole to be flirted with. This should satisfy the needs of many looking for same gender romance. :)

All jokes aside, I agree with the OP. Flirts for same gender are in every other Bioware game, it should be the same for SWTOR.

  8. So then they're punishing us for not having an authenticator.

    Good to know.

Sorry if I seem a little combative, but I really hate this and truly believe it needs a cooldown reduction. We shouldn't be forced to buy an authenticator just so we can have the privilege of spending an additional 1k each for passes. The free one needs to work more often.

    Again, just my opinion.

No one is punishing you. You never had a fleet pass until the Security store came out. That said you are getting a fleet pass that is reusable for free. If you want more, you just have to download an authenticator for free to your smart phone or you can purchase one.

You are being rewarded for being responsible for your account. You are being rewarded for protecting your information so Customer Service doesnt have to deal with your complaints for not having an authenticator. Your 15 bucks a month only entitles you to the game.

Extra content that requires you to purchase or obtain something specific is what it is... fluff. Its not game breaking to not have a fleet pass. We all got along just fine without one in beta.

  9. Some of the space combat senarios have you destroying a set number of targets. For example, early on there is one about blowing up a listening post by destroying hangars, turrents, and shield generators.

I've gotten to the point where I can complete the listed goals with nearly 3 minutes left on the clock.

Please add an option to leave the mission area early upon completing the stated goals.

You've missed one... and it would take you the rest of the 3 minutes to do it. :)

  10. “Sith are evil.

The Sith philosophy is evil and encourages evil in its participants. We can get into endless philosophical discussions about whether anything is actually evil or actually good but if we are speaking from our modern, western view on the concept of evil then the Sith clearly qualify. They are encouraged to put the personal over the group, power over compassion and to judge everything’s worthiness to survive on its ability to fight for that survival. Mercy, sympathy, generosity, these are seen as weaknesses. Anger and rage are seen as strengths. These are not people most of us want to work with or have as neighbors.”

“In the Star Wars universe, followers of the Sith philosophy genuinely believe that these things we deem evil, are actually in the best interests of a society. They look at the disorder, corruption and infighting of the Republic and they scoff. ‘What those people lack,’ an Imperial thinks, ‘is strong leadership.’ ”

“It’s equally important to remember that you don’t have to believe in any of this to play on the Empire’s side in The Old Republic. You can be the exception to the rule. You are merely making a choice to be someone who was born on that side of the fence. Or, in the case of the Bounty Hunter, someone who tends to work in that part of space. The light side Sith who works tirelessly to make his Empire a better place is a deeply compelling character. The pragmatic Agent who wants nothing more than to protect the millions non-Sith citizens from harm is equally interesting. The Bounty Hunter gets to be his own man and spit right in the face of anyone who he doesn’t agree with. Being a good man in a bad place is one of the all time great role-playing options.“ - Daniel Erickson

The man of 1000 abs has already spoken... /thread

  11. I do not think I was being rude. I was simply calling out development on their promises. They claim to be listening to their community, but they are not listening to the 1/3 of their community that has been asking for the things on the list since beta.

Many of you who disagree and say I give RPers a bad name are the same people who settle for scraps development throws at you. I am a voice. You should be backing it if you want things done. Most of you act like if you make demands they wont be honored. Look at the PvP and Raid community, they make demands every day and look how much content they get. Entire patches dedicated to their style of play.

The squeaky wheel gets the oil and many of you need to squeak louder. I don't know about you, but I am tired of seeing RP servers being PvE servers with a RP tag. I want our servers to stand out from all the rest so that when a new player rolls on a RP server they are amazed at the difference. You do not get those kind of results by being silent and passive.

I encourage all of you to raise your voice and be heard. Many of you may think the list is trivial, but it is the trivial things that make life more pleasant. For many of us true role-players, role-play is our end game with PvP and PvE being "fluff."

  12. "We're also going to be listening to the community, and seeing what they want to see in the game. We always are listening to the community; you are the people who decide what kind of changes we need to make to the game. Because this game is for you guys."

So now I have to ask you, Mr. Ohlen, by "listening to the community," did you just mean the PvP and PvE community? I ask this because since the beginning of beta, we the RP community have been asking for:

    1. Chat Bubbles

    2. Furniture you can sit in, and not just 1 chair on your starship

    3. Color matching for gear

    4. Better face/body customization

    5. Player housing

    6. RP events/content

    7. More social gear

    8. Craftable social gear

    9. Story vendors ala SWG

    10. More accessable RP areas for cross-faction RP

    11. Cross-faction communication across /yell /whisper and custom chat channels

    12. Name Enforcement on RP servers, if anything at least enforce your own naming policy outlined in the EULA, which you have not been doing

    13. More ways to obtain social points, specifically via actual role-play content

    14. Choices actually affection our story

    15. A barber shop/plastic surgeon to recustomize our appearances with added content

    16. Furniture and trophies to decorate at least our ship

    17. Allow more than 4 players into a ship instance

To name a few. When asked at NY Comic Con what is Bioware developing for role-players, Daniel Ericson replied "How about the greatest Role Playing Game of all time?" I seriously have to ask, what has the development team done to encourage or even stimulate role-play in SWTOR?

We had two large updates since launch and not one of them had any content or fixes geared toward the role-play community. As I see it, none of our requests were listened to or even implemented. If you are truly listening to your community, dont ignore the other 1/3rd who have their own playstyle just as popular and equally fun in its' own right.

  13. I'll tell you a little story:

The super server(Lord Adraas) idea was torn apart for drama reasons which is where I started. I ended up rerolling on Sanctum of the Exalted which was advertised by the players who were negative about the super server. These people had "numbers" showing there was more rp potential on SotE than LA. Two of my roleplaying friends followed me and we've done every quest IC, emoted our way across the planets, and were immersed in the game.

We witnessed two instances of people roleplaying out in the open. I figured they must all be cantina rats trying to get lucky or something so I scouted the cantinas. Saw a few people dancing, otherwise nothing. So take what you want from my story but I've actually witnessed regular non-scheduled random roleplay going on in Lord Adraas since jumping back on there and poking around.

I call BS. Names and levels of your Sanctum characters... I doubt any are over level 25.

  14. servers go to sleep when you have a day off. Alternatively you could just stick with an American server...

Your schedule can be the reason why you are not seeing RP. In addition, Ebon Hawk was a starter RP server at launch and thusly many of the RPers should be your level or higher by now. If you find that you are not finding RP, an alternate solution would be to srat RP yourself and see where it takes your character. You would be surprised how many people are willing to RP once someone starts it.

Before you make the decision to move. Do some more research on your server. See if there are private server forums like those on swtor-rp.com and then check to see if any events are going on during your play hours.

My server, Sanctum of the Exalted, for example, you can find late-night RPers in either side's Fleet. However most open world-RP occurs during prime-time and on certain planets like Hoth, Tatooine, Dromund Kaas and Nar Shadaa. We also have weekly and weekend events that sometime last to around 1am est.
