  1. Hello!

I'm a new player to SWTOR and decided to make a Sith Sorcerer as my first character. I have few questions about leveling in general and my class.

Firstly, i'd like to know if Lightning is preferred leveling spec? If not, why so? Im currently using Khem Val as tank and do ranged dps to mow down enemies. Madness-tree also seemed very good from the looks of it and would like to try it out. If you've played sorc, which spec would you take for leveling?

Also am i able to level in PVP matches (warzones?) or just by traditional questing?

All 3 Specs work fine for leveling (mind you healing tree will let you solo harder heroic zones with Khemmy, no matter what tree you go with Sorcs always take ~9 points in lighting first to good to pass up).

You get XP in everything you do PvP, Flashpoints (use the group finder for 5 bonus commendations Yippe), questing and Space missions.

  2. Its possible you already collected it as you cant tell if you have picked it up or not with out checking codex to see if the datacron entry for it is in there.

Press L switch to Codex and look in datacrons is there an entry called "Galactic History 05: Rise of the Infinite Empire" if so you already got it.

  3. Speeders price start at about 8K credits and piloting is under 200 credits I would only buy the pack if you want the extras. I Spent mine on increasing my account backpack size for all characters thats 350 coins for every character your ever make vs ~20K credits per character.
  4. You can see how it works if you go speak to social vendor with a companion out who uses a different armour type to you IE a Sith Inquisitor with Khem Val though the item will have an armour rating and value for both. The armour rating will be 6 for both the PC will only get ~30 armour and Khem Val will get ~120 armour.
  5. Light side choices make more since in some ways, as such my Sith always ended up more light than dark, unless I pick just for DS or LS points in game. As for Sith VS Jedi it comes down to this IMO Sith have feelings and Jedi are boring lumps of unfeeling stone.

As for Light and Dark we never been told what the force is or how it works, all we are told about is belief system. I believe the force don't really care if your light, dark, grey or a rainbow (some groups in Star Wars universe think its coloured) nor do the types of powers used.

  6. It was him, it says so in the SWTOR Encyclopedia - his Voice was created soon after that event because he feared another attack could happen again and wished to protect himself (Basically he did it out of fear, implying he nearly died.) It's also canon that the Emperor has no emotions, and has been that way since birth.

If he has no emotions he cant feel fear as that an emotion.

  7. THE EMPEROR! YOU KILL THE FRICKIN LEADER OF THE SITH EMPIRE!!

Sorry your Spoiler is wrong it only

the possessed Voice of the Emperor that you kill

    if the

Emperor is gonna to be in the game he gonna be a raid boss

    .

  8. what about that mission where the sith got tagged because they were hunting people down just because it was Tuesday?

Hmm as I remember it, the hunters are a group of criminal citizens of the empire not sith. Anyway the reason you tag the sith acolytes is so the hunters tries to kill them and then get cut into little bits by the siths, ethier the acolytes or some higher up sith for dareing to attack a sith.

  9. More cargo hold pages and inventory rows for all toons. Otherwise I'm sitting on my sub tokens. Only swag I want is in gamble boxes so I just buy the specific item off GTN.

This buy make sure you buy the Account Version of the upgrade and not the Charater one. The Account version is a tiny bit more costly (think its about 2.5x the price) but when you going to have 3+ chars that a good buy.

  10. If you don't want to have a bubble butt while wearing a jedi robe, go type 3.

My type 3 sent has no stupid bubble butt in his robe but my type 2 guardian does, so I have to have him wear a cloak/cape chestpiece instead of a robe.

Your sure that it not because your type 2 guardian is in heavy robes where your sent is in medium?

  11. The funny thing with the Sith Warrior story it better IMO if you play it light sided than the darkside.

As for the rest well I am enjoying them so far havn't touched the Sage/Sorc stories really as they seem a bit Meh to me based on the short bit I played.

ZakMorgan, try a Lightsided Sith Warrior it fun ^ and the story good as well.

  12. Profiteering is take any combination of non crafting skills and selling what you collect either to vendors or on the GTN.

As for trade skills to take, if you want to make stuff then:

Top tier are: Artifice or Synthweaving, as you get bonuses to all 3 skills involved. PS Kira gives +5 crit synthweaving & +1 crit treasure hunting.

Upper Mid tier: Biochem, but you say you don't want that, with the +5 crit biochem and +10 Eff Bioan.

Lower Mid tier: Cybertech, just +Eff on gathering skills here.

bottom tier: Armstech and Armormech <- as they are useless.

^^ Recommend Artifice or Synthweaving (you got a higher chance of critted augment gear) if your going to make stuff but Bio/Cyber can work just fine, just not as strong.

If going for Profit well you get +2 crit slicing (T7-01), +10 eff scavenging (Rusk), +10 eff archeology (Scourge), +5 eff underworld trading (Doc), +1 crit treasure hunting (Kira).

Really recommend taking Scav so you can farm Strong+ droids for parts +2 others.

  13. They are, still. But not for a lot longer.

As stated in this developer comment

I don't know what happens with the set boni, but I remember having read about that somewhere in a dev comment.

I assuming the set bonus is ethier going to be on the Armouring/Augment mod or they add a new mod type & mod slot to everything (if they go for number 2 I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to change the armour type of the crafted item).

  14. There is one thing with the Fleet comment by Han Solo "the entire star fleet can't destroy a planet" that can make the whole thing irrelevant is that it impossible to tell what he talking about, it could be the entire Imperial Navy (highly unlikely) or it could be a an imperial fleet (like that bunch of warships, IE the Deathstar = 50% of the warship there).

For example on Earth there's the Pacific Fleet and the Atlantic Fleet and so on and theres no way that the Atlantic Fleet is the entire US Navy.

  15. Since our class buffs are straight +X% to crit chance it stacks with the soft cap (the soft cap without buffs).

Stuff that adds +X Crit rating don't raise crit above soft cap as such +crit relics suck if you high crit (ok they got +surge that might be useful, but in general +power be better)

  16. Operative with the jump is meant to hurt us badly as that what they are the guys who sneak in and then burst damage someone down.

With out the jump they are a lame duck, if you think an op is sneaking up on you use your Knockback and hell lame duck limping to the slaughter.

  17. For some reason, I just don't think I am dealing enough damage, according to my character sheet I am doing the following;

    Damage primary 1262-1742

    Damage second 165-309

    Am am currently level 22

    Does this seem right?

    Tmx

Like stated about the game misses out the decimal point in damage numbers, One thing I will say is switch your weapons over (unless second weapon is off-hand only), highest damage weapon should always be in primary slot due to primary having a higher hit chance.
