So it's now June 5th and nothing has been said about transfers. I was hoping to put mine in before bed. Sigh.
Same here, on the character transfer page :
"The character transfer service is currently unavailable."
Eric, when you said Tuesday June 4th for APAC transfers, did it occur to you that the players who are concerned by this actually live in APAC (Meaning at least UTC +8h)....

Allright, I tried to reroll on the Harbinger but I just couldn't leave my 50's behind... After over 10 tranfse request to CS, I finally gave up... the state of the game was what really made me angry, did not even mention about us.
/ unsubscribed... I will be back when I am able to play properly from APAC. Until then, I don't see any reasons why I should pay for this game.

After a few months of struggle, I finally gave up, I am leaving the APAC servers.
I left 3 lvl 50 behind and will transfer them to Harbinger once I am allowed to do so.
The ping I get from the west coast is twice better and the population 4 times the amount seen on Dalborra....
What a rip-off BW !

Whatever their reason, it was extremely low of them to just delete those posts. It says one thing about Bioware: They simply don't care.
Not only they deleted everything but on top of that, they sent a warning to the posters ( I was one of them). Nonetheless I re-posted again nominating this thread instead...
if I get one more warning, I am gone for good.

Please discuss this week's Developer Update: Shadow Optimizations in Game Update 1.4 blog in this thread!
It took me some time to reply to this because of the issues that this "improvement" brought along...
However, with the latest patch, there is no problem for me anymore on the performance. The shadows, for most areas, look much better.
Since this was one of the reasons that made me stop playing a while back, I am happy to jump back in.
Good fix and good job. (even though, IMO, that should have been at launch).

I noticed some nice changes to my JK animations with 1.4. It is a lot more smooth and nice to watch a lightsaber fight, my toon no longer cancel out a move and actually finishes it, he also parries a lot more (visually that is).
Anyways, I missed it in the patch notes, I wanted to say that this is good work and greatly apreciated.
did you guys noticed this kind of changes in this class or other classes?

Excellent idea OP.
IMO, two options would be nice:
Holorecord : WATCH your class story (conversations and cinematics)
Flashback : PLAY your class quests (you wouldnt have to walk or travel, it would just drop you off to the right place so you could move on with the fights, story, conversation...)
This is idealistic and seeing how long it takes them to have a barbershop, hood toggle or else...
We are of course all dreaming on this...

@OP : I totally agree with you and having to wait for a year to have this kind of feature is definetly killing the game for me.
This is a story driven MMO and yet I cannot create a character young as a padawan that will grow older with scars and older traits at the end of his story...(unless I level him up with their latest appearance, white hair for a padawan look dumb IMO).
Anyways, a real disappointment for me.

F2P will not fix the population problem for lvl 50 players..
It will take people months to level and most of the 50 stuff will not be free anyway.
Actually, F2P may very well bring back some players that unsubbed earlier this year (with some Lvl 50s).
Back to the matter at hand, I am starting to think that BW is waiting on the Cartel Market to make us pay the transfers if we want to move out of APAC. this, of course, After F2P comes live.
THAT would really be a bad move and wouldn't be respectful towards the current player database. On my side, this could be an instant /quit.

@OP; God I hope so, been waiting for a barber shop since I rushed through the Creation Process, then at level 37 realised I didn't actually have to be bald, ugly, scarred, weigh 390 lbs, and have 1990's facial hair

I was wondering if we will see a re-customization tool with the launch of F2P...
Since the Cartel Store will probably offer some cosmetic items, will BW let us re-look our toons?

No one is surprised by this response....seems to be the stock standard answer to almost everything asked by us forum goers on any subject.
Why not just say your waiting to see how free to play affects server populations...I take it this is the real reason for the lack of any information. The higher ups at EA stating they expect F2P could bring in 10 to 50 million subs (LOL) so stuff the existing population over for all the potential new blood you may get. (Sony did this exact thing in Star Wars Galaxies with the NGE...doing over their existing player base for the potential new players they thought the changes would bring)

waiting to see what will happen with F2P I guess... so one more month or so to wait... Thanks a lot, do we get a month for free since right now we pretty much pay for nothing?
A broken game (thanks 1.4) and no players to play with... (remember what the MM means in MMORPG??)

I am quite angry as well, right now, 2 people on Tatoine (including me...).
With the high number of posts regarding the APAC merge request from the community and the only reply from BW "we will look into it in the next few days" posted a few weeks back, my patience is really starting to run out.
What is the status BW? Waiting on F2P? Having a tech problem? Some concerns?
