  1. Since the release of the LFG I've occasionally come across questionable players that don't pay attention or just plain don't have a clue. I know that if I throw them on my ignore list that I won't have to worry about running with them again, but that also means that I won't see them in chat either. While I know their skills are lacking that doesn't mean they're horrible people that I should ignore completely.

I guess what I'm saying is I'd like to see a separate list from the ignore list so I can avoid them in LFG without completely ignoring them in case they're actually pretty decent people.

  2. Like many have already said, cross server really won't make much of a dent on the que times due to the ratio or tanks/heals to dps. So far since patch my que times on my sentinel have been about the same as my dps toon from back in WOW.

Honestly, what'll help more than anything is to include Dual Spec and an incentive to queuing up as tank or heals.

Personally I still don't think that'll allow dps to get near instant ques. Ultimately many will want to just dps only regardless of the options put out before them, but that just comes with the territory of choosing to be dps. If you want faster ques, go tank or heals, otherwise suck it up.

  3. I totally get where you're coming from, because I feel the same way. However, I feel that unfortunately you're going to get this type of behavior in the group finder, whether or not there is dual specs. People will see their armor type/main stat and knee-jerk the need button of a brand new piece of gear before they stop and think. Or they will honestly think that they need it (even though they really don't). The plus for us being a tank is the short wait for a group :)

While that is true, since we are getting a server only LFG I don't think the problem will be quite that bad. Most I'm sure are aware that rolling need on gear for a spec you're not currently in isn't smiled upon. I'm sure it'll still happen from time to time, but those people will just end up on ignore lists and running flashpoints much less often.

  4. If they went along the same pattern they had with both the reps and imps, and third faction would need...

    Two new origin planets.

A new capital planet (in this case Hutta maybe, but would probably still need to be a whole other area of the planet)

All new sets of quests for each planet (maybe a whole new planet to replace taris and balmorra)

Four new mirror classes (what would be their trooper/hunter?)

    Tons of voice acting

And more I'm sure. All of which sounds like an expansion packs worth of content. While I certainly wouldn't be against the idea, I'm not putting any credits on it happening.

  5. I for one would gladly wait twice as long for each run if it means I can avoid the same kind of group quality I got from WOW's cross server LFG.

People can argue all they want about communities and there always being a-holes in mmo's and what not, but the flashpoints I've done in TOR have been far and away better than almost any run I've done in wow since the cross server tool came out. Aside from one group falling apart due to a couple wipes, all of them have been great despite how fast or slow the runs went. I've yet to come across a single loot ninja. I certainly wouldn't want to lose all that just because some people claim to know how well this'll work before it's even deployed live.

  6. Honestly, one of the biggest mistakes Bioware made with this game had to be the ability to see how many players are on a certain planet/area at a given time. People freak out all the time over numbers they can't comprehend.

They say ignorance is bliss. While I don't agree with that 100%, it certainly applies in some situations.

  7. Coming this October...

PATCH 1.4: REVENGE OF THE THESPIAN!!!!

    Features include

    Chairs! With real sitting action!

    Chat Bubbles!

World PVP! New cross faction cantina's added. Challenge opposing players to see whose dance moves are truly strongest with the force!

Brand new flashpoint! "Failed Negotiations". Attempt to last as long as possible with three other players at a negotiation table full of jabberin' Gungans without killing all the guests. The longer you last, the greater the rewards!

New emotes such as "Patty Cake" and "Vader No Scream".

    And MUCH MUCH MORE!!!

....funny thing is, I'm only half joking about that list :p

  8. One aspect that needs addressing: There needs to be a 'story run' option. I've been vote-kicked from two runs now because of people frothing at the mouth that I actually wanted to see the dialogue rather than spacebar through it. In a game this focused on story, that is simply unacceptable.

What you do in those situations is watch the movie than on occasion scream "SPACEBAR!!" just like the rest of them. Granted it has a chance of ending a group run early, but if you're not hurting on time it's fun to watch people get all worked up and play the blame game. :)

  9. It's clearly too late now, but I'm really not a fan of this. I PvP alot and have 3 'toons I regularly put in the under 50 PvP because it's the most fun bracket. These are also my crafting toons. I have no desire to make the best gear to sell only to have someone who's bought it come beat me over the head with it in a WZ. (Read: I don't like gearing up the enemy).

Look at it this way, at least he's paying you to kill you. :)

  10. Meh. I allways try to be nice because it is in my nature to be that way. But some it is the opposite. I knew of one big guild in WoW which took pride in being a band of ninja's , jerks and selfish tards. Disease Monkeys was thier guild name. They got thier content done in the game just fine. :p This was before they added any cross server LFG tool too.

That will happen sometimes, not often mind you but it does. My first server in WOW had a guild just like that. And they can get away with it too. They just had to do everything as a guild pretty much, since no one wanted to group up with anyone from that guild. Even if you were a decent person who just joined that guild to get to the high end content would get boned for simply having that guild name attached.

Thing is though, guilds come and go, but a bad rep can be damn near irreversible.

  11. You'll have to wait until they announce the origin and destination servers to find out. For all you know, Hidden Beks might get transferred to Red Eclipse and save you the trouble of potential name changes.
  12. Everyone is so fixated on moving to Fatman, like it's the only way they'll ever play on a populated server. Wait for the free transfers to go through. Let BW finish getting people moved around and see what happens.

If you're on a server type and you want to switch (for example, RP to PVP), you're gonna have to wait for paid transfers. It's not BW's fault you picked the wrong one to begin with.

Free transfers to wherever would be bad. People would all flock to the largest server and the que's would be ridiculous, causing yet another uproar from players. On top of that, communities would get split up due to a lack communication.

  13. Yes, I read it.

Consider this... Jung Ma, the NE RP-PvP server, has the highest population for that server type, but is still light.

Since transfers are currently only same type to same type Jung Ma's population will not increase very much at all, even if every player from the other NE RP-PvP server goes there. If it had all those players today, it still wouldn't be "Heavy". Add to that the fact that they are increasing server size limits and you can see that a server like this will be at a big disadvantage.

I'm not saying make it a free for all, just that players be given the choice of 4 destination servers, each of a different server type.

You seem to be under the impression that Jung Ma will only receive one origin server. They've stated already that depending on the size of the destination server, there may be many origin servers transferring to it. So even a light server now could end becoming heavy, just depends on number of origin servers that are added.

  14. Pretty close. I don't get how they think it will be viable when you can't make anything top end or consumable. I get Artifice is suppose to the be make low level crap for alts profession?

Very disappointing in how useless this profession is going to be to me, and stupidly my primary alt profession is Cybertech, so double hosed.

What about mods? I've seen several mods show up on the GTN of higher quality. Most likely RE'd from endgame mods (unless they're drops from ops, I'm not sure as I don't do ops at the moment). Also I recently had to replace a relic after realizing mine wasn't quite BIS, and was able to RE it and can now craft a campaign relic to sell on the GTN. The one that I made so far made me an easy 1 million creds.

Not saying it's perfect, but we do have options.

  15. Seriously, just watch all the story cutscenes on Youtube. You're being dragged along for the ride anyhow, contributing absolutely nothing. You might as well just watch them all online. Save yourself (and the poor guys dragging you) the trouble. Should be just as "fun". :)

Edit: Dang Pubsam, beat me by just a minute...:p

  16. If people are giving you grief for not spacebarring than just do what I do. At the start of the flashpoint, about a few lines of dialogue in, type "SPACEBAR!!!!!" into party chat, and perhaps on occasion to remind people.

As far as I know there's no way to really know who isn't skipping, so if you at least pretend like you're impatient about it then you'll probably get away with it. Plus it's fun to watch the accusations fly.
