  1. I disagre, you can likely get to level 15 or further and still use only 1 QB. You just can't have out of combat abilities (heal, buff, QT, medpack, stims, ect) on them, which is perfectly possibile.

Ah, that didn't take long... the race to the bottom of the definition of ''convenience'' goes on... now having medpacks on your screen ready to click is ''convenience'', cause, hey, it's ''perfectly possible''.

I have seen this discussion in LOTRO. I know where it goes. It's not a pretty road you're taking.

That being said... I suspect Bioware is perfectly aware what players think of someone that claims that a second toolbar is a convenience. Maybe they only put this restriction in so that we would rage about it, and then they remove the restriction and say ''see, we listen to you'.

I cannot find any other reason as to why they would put such a restriction in. Surely, they want more players for this game. And that won't work if they handicap players IN THEIR ACTUAL COMBAT when they don't pay, pay, pay. They know this: they don't need us to tell them that you can't play the game with one toolbar.

No, the only reason I can think off for this restiriction, is to take it away before it goes live, so they can say they listened to us. It's impossible that they will treat f2p players this way, impossible.

  2. Basically if you un-sub for let's say 3 days during this time, does that then make you're no longer eligible?

    Yes, indeed.

Well, if you pay every 20th and you cancel on the 5th and re-sub on the 8th, I guess you will still get it. But not if you resub on the 23th.

And if you get excited about a dancing Jawa, well... let's just say I wouldn't say that out too loud, lol.

  3. That is hardly official, since he clearly said 'he thinks' but he isn't involveds o can't really say anything, and that tweet describing it as 'official' was removed.

Yeah, if anything, it's a sign of the opposite.

That being said, as much as I agree with same gender relationships, I do not think that should be a priority right now.

  4. Just because you lack the patience to wait for it, does not make it their problem, or anyone elses. Your impatience is your problem... own it.

No, from a business point of view, the impatience of many customers is also the company's problem. It leads to unhappy customers, even when the company (or some other customers) find that impatience wrong.

If alot of your customers think that Bioware's service is lacking, Bioware has a problem.

THEY are the ones that should ''own it''.

  5. If I were them, I would launch f2p and Makeb together to create a double hype: one hype for f2p players to come and try to check the game out and another hype to former players to get a new level cap.

I think that type of jump-start would be better than f2p in November or December and than a new level cap a month or two later.

That is on the condition that they learned from their mistakes with 1.4 and can do f2p and Makeb without a crippling amount of bugs, else it's probably best to seperate them, so that people that come for the new level cap aren't still seeing the f2p bugs.

If they do Maked and f2p seperatly, I hope they're smart enough to do f2p first and the level cap later. That way, more people will return for the level cap.

Whatever they do, I'm pretty sure they understand the importance of getting this right. They probably know 1.4 was a distaster (although they don't say it anywhere) and that they can't afford that another time: when they release f2p with this much bugs, all the new players will just leave.

  6. I've kinda given up on the CE Vendor. They really need to discontinue this in some official way. It's just a sore spot for all of us that per-ordered the CE and didn't really get anything. I personally like the Imperial Trooper outfit but that's about it.

I never bought any CE or deluxe edition or whatever the marketing people call it. In any game. They are solely marketed to people who care more about stuff around the game than they care about the game itself.

I can't say I regret this decision in SWTOR despite the fact that I was very tempted. They sure managed to make it sound sweet, didn't they? Exclusive items! Regularly updated!! VIP lounge!!!

But that is what marketing people are paid for: twist facts so that they sound nice without being outright lies. Cause, hey, they DID upgrade the store once in the first year, right? No one said ''regularly'' means more than once a year. So, it's not a lie, is it?

You'll hear more of these marketeer-terms when f2p hits. Much more.

  7. I'm currently logged in on the PTS, level 50 sentinel and i'm the only person in section X, come play on the test server so i at least have someone to group with..

Don't ask us, ask the few hard-core guilds that got transferred last time to PTS.

They are the ones with characters high enough to do new content.

The rest of us are not worthy to test.

Besides... we all saw how many bugs got by with 1.4. Who wants to be part of a test team that gets ignored so often???

  8. Im shocked by the amount of posts regarding the F2P, imho, most people is pretty confused and many seems to not have even read the information released so far like the F2P FAQ and the Features list

But as is well known, MMO players are not among the most patient beings, we 'eat' info and content at amazing speeds and keep being hungry, so i think it would be nice from Devs to throw us a bone while solving some of the doubts people have regarding the incoming changes in the game.

First, those FAQs are very, very unclear. Maybe on purpose, so people would continue to subscribe out of fear of loosing coins.

Second, the game going f2p is the biggest change that will ever happen to it. If they want to communicate clearly about this, they would tell one person to spend 10 hours a week answering questions on the forum.

But apperently everyone at Bioware has more important things to do than to communicate to the players about the big change that will break or make the game. I don't know what exactly is more important, but clearly there is something!

  9. Yes, you are entitled to everything in this game because you pay 15 bucks a month. Let me hand you a full set of War Hero Ranked gear that you did not earn through rank. Here have some Rakata gear too. Oh and don't forget your awesome speeder that you get from killing the boss on Nightmare mode!

If you do not see the difference between buying something with real money and earning something with playing, then there is nothing anyone can say to you that makes sense.

  10. Wouldn't it be nice if they added more classes instead?

No. Last thing this game needs is just another class. You got 16. That should be enough.

There are maybe 2-3% of the people that have all 16 classes that would benefit from another class.

There are 80-90% players that have a level 50 and would benefit from a level increase.

Adding levels to keep players seems like a no-brainer to me.

  11. If you agree with this or not is a moot point. The fact is, PVP is dieing and one thing that is needed to keep it alive at this point, is CROSS SERVER QUEUES. This topic SHOULD be at the forefront of BW's plans to fix SWTOR. Because if it isn't, a sizable segment of subs will disappear in the next month or so.

Don't hold your breath for it.

They are setting all their hopes on f2p. And that is not exactly the target audience for hardcore PvPers, is it?

Sorry to say, but you seem to be part of an audience that they no longer cater for.

I find it amazing how vague this list is, lol. Why don't they simply add the dates of the months too???

And your missing month is probably this month. I got a list like you with all 10/16 lines and then on top one 17/10 line. I assume that's the subscription fee date for this month.

Stupid question, but is it supposed to have the same date for every entry (I'm guessing yes, as it was only applied today)?

Yes, that's their way of communicating clearly. I'm sure you're used to it by now.

  13. This is pretty inaccurate. There were no special abilites tied to the game just items. Occasionally there was a buff item but anyone could acquire them for a price on the forum GTN.

First you say that I'm inaccurate.

Then you say exactly what I say! Just replace the word ''occassionally'' with ''rare'' and add that the sellers on the forums got that buff item from the $$$ shop. Then you got exactly the same what I said.

How can you say that there were ''no special abilites tied to the game items'' and then say ''occasionally there was a buff item'' ? That is what buff is, an ability tied to the game!

Your opinion is that corporate greed is good. I disagree. So be it.

But don't say I am being inaccurate and then say the same thing as what I said: some people paid $$$ to get deck of cards and then sold rare cards for credits in the game, with buyers that got unique buffs / abilities from them.

  14. I think this would be a fine revenue generator that wouldn't "feel" like one.

Oh, but it DOES feel like a revenue generator, lol. In SWG, you bought deck of cards, with real $$$ (no other way to get them). Then, you could trade those cards with other people. Most cards where to play some silly card game inside the SWG interface, where you would play against other players' with their deck or where players played together with their decks against some AI's deck.

Now, the tricky part... some of the (very rare) cards gave you unique abilites, abilites that boosted you IN THE ACTUAL GAME. For example, you could get a card that you could ''use'' and it would give on of your in-game characters a unique buff.

    Think somthing like...

    - pay 5$ for a deck

    - open the deck

    - see you don't have the rare card

    - pay 5$ for another deck

    - open the deck

    - see you don't have the rare card

    - pay 5$ for another deck

    - open the deck

    - see you don't have the rare card

    - pay 5$ for another deck

    - open the deck

    - see you don't have the rare card

    ...

    - pay 5$ for another deck

    - open the deck

    - see you get the rare card

    - apply the card so you Jedi gets an 1 minute invulnerabilty buff every 10 minutes.

    - solo high-end content

    - boost to everyone what a great player you are.

That is what happened in SWG. It was pure and pure greed from SOE.

They even went so far as this: you could trade the cards with other players, so (what I did) you could pay in-game credits to a player (typically 6 million, iirc) and they would give you a deck worth 5$. Or you would pay 20 million in-game credits and they gave you the super-rare card which made your character unbeatable. So, instead of someone buying 5 million credits on ebay, they would give SOE 5$ and get 5 million from a rich player!!

Corporate greed is an ugly thing to watch...

  15. i'll try to explain this bug since there seems to be some confusion.

basically what happens is you queue for a WZ and when your queue pops you end up in a WZ by yourself so you just go do your triple cap get free win type thing and after its over you are stuck in a phantom ops group that you can't quit and when somebody tries to invite you to a group it says you are already in a group at least thats how it happened on my alt

So, the bug happens when you...

    - queue for a WZ

    - go to the WZ alone

    - cheat to get rank & commendations (''get free win type thing'')

    - get out and are bugged

And... you want what exactly? That Bioware helps you to cheat better?
