  1. We yet again have a nice amount of Trainees coming through the ranks. We'd love for more players looking for a guild to join us! There are many folks I think that would tell you how well everyone gets along in our guild and how much fun we have in Teamspeak during PvP and raids.

Verification: PvE Raid Times 7PM EST? T/W/Su?

Just checking cause the calender on the site was displaying GMT, which is ... well ... unusual.

    /FreeBumpsNoMatter

  2. The WASD is the best setup imo ... but ...

I don't like using my pinky to use **** or alt or ctrl ... at all. Why? because it generally means you end up moving your hand off the keys for some combos.

Solution: Bind your mouse button 4 or 5 (whatever is easier to reach) to one of the modifiers like CTRL.

That way you have access to all of the normal keys around WASD ... and by holding down mouse 4, you get them all over again without having to move your left hand off the keys at all.

  3. Why? It's a legitimate request. I want to see it too and frankly it should be an option. The fact that it is not is quite disgraceful and rather sexist

What people do in the privacy of their bedrooms should stay in their bedrooms. Forcing it into their face, especially in a game, shows a complete lack of respect for people of the opposite viewpoint.

A game is not the proper venue for this sort of thing.

  4. Waste if you ask me ... you only need the standard 5 button mouse with a wheel. The trick? bind one of the mouse buttons (4 or 5) to either CTRL, SHIFT or ALT.

So you have the 16ish natural keys at your disposal:

12345, qwert, asdfg, zxcvb ... I use ESDF for movement, so those don't really count.

Then you have "mouse4 + key" for another 16 combos. That's at minimum 32 combinations which is more then you can probably keep track of in the heat of battle.

Use extra Razer keys for things like quick travel, fleet pass, etc, etc ... trying to move the thumb around and move the mouse around is more trouble then it's worth.

  5. I know other MMO's have done this but so what

There is a reason why "other MMO's" do it that way. Just because you don't understand why, doesn't mean it's not the best way.

What is funny about this dead horse is when children don't like something, they suggest something they think they would like and call it "better".

To make something "better" you have to fully understand the intent and purpose of the original *thing* ... the pro's and con's of the original *thing* ... then you can try to come up with something *better*, which generally means the *new* thing has more Pro's and less Con's from the original thing.

Guess what? you don't have a clue about the Pro's and Con's of the way loot is done now and they are very well documented ready for your ignorant brain to absorb. Then again, that would be work and heavens forbid you have to actually put some effort into anything.

Take this post for instance .... no effort on your part at all ... bet your life looks a lot like this post.

  6. It's not broken, and ergo not going to be fixed.

Red / Green door is Red / Green door regardless of whether it's a normal mission or flashpoint. Once you leave a mission area, the door turns red ... period.

The answer? DON'T LEAVE THE DAM MISSION. It's that simple.

If you think about it, they would have to change the entire engine to allow you to go back into a completed mission. That's not going to happen as it would cause far more problems ... finish 1 part of a chain? leave loot on the floor? you don't care? then when you try to come back to do the second part it has not advanced the story cause some piece of lame loot is on some dead npc somewhere in the story?

The only thing they "can" do and "should" do is to give you a prompt when releasing ... "If you release back to the med center, you will not be able to get back in".

That's it ... other then that, it ain't broke, so it ain't gonna get fixed. Even if they through it was broken, and it's not, it's so far down on the totem pole and requires sooooo much work that it simply isn't going to happen.

  7. Or silly thought.., get 3 more people

Silly person making silly comments is silly?

I got an alt on Tatooine ... and he has like all 10ish heroics? cause even though there are like 22-25 people on all the time, they either don't want to group, or they aren't up there yet.

Not to mention you have to find the right mix ... and there is little to no reason to actually level as *tank* or *healer* so a group of 4 dps ... now that would be silly.

The reality is, on medium / low pop servers, at this time in the cycle, you simply are not going to find others to group with on a "random basis". Even guildies don't always have alts at the same level / planet / progression your at.

That's just the way MMO's are ... when content is released, the group quests work out well ... as soon as the initial rush of mains and first alts are over, then the group quests end up not getting done. This is not new, so I have no idea why MMO developer insist on group quests at all ... it's really pretty stupid.

  8. So a handful of guilds get to see the content first ... whoop-de-do

It only takes one or two of those guilds to fraps the encounter to practically bring all the rest up to speed.

It's not like stuff is hard and it's been more a matter of RNG with gear then anything else. If you get good drops that are well proportioned, you progress faster.

Just cause a handful of guilds, non of which might even be on your server, get to test early doesn't automatically allow them to kill the same encounter on nightmare mode first.

Furthermore ... why are you QQ'ing about it in the first place? Be thankful they are at least getting the stuff tested which benefits everyone. Your crying over milk that has not even been split yet ... and when it is split, might not even matter.

Seriously ... doom and gloom "kiddies" need to give it a rest ... go pop some zits or something k?

  9. 2 million subscribers and a game that cost $200 million to make. A game in trouble wouldn't have made twice the amount of cash it took to create.

    Wrong numbers are wrong ...

2 Million Sales ... 1.7 million Subs, some of those subs are still on trial period so expect that number to dip slightly.

Still, even if it dips to 1.5 mil active subs that is very good ... the issue is going to be keeping those. There are a decent number of people that are sticking around to see the next *big* update (1.2) and if BioWare doesn't deliver, expect to see those subs drop off dramatically.

Especially considering the numerous bugs that where around for months in beta that still haven't been fixed ... like the Ilum PvP daily that has never worked.

Honestly, we all know that BW rushed it out the door to hit the christmas sales cycle and that means a chunk of the team is still working on things that should have been fixed before the game went public, which means less of the team to work on the stuff that people paying for the game are demanding.

You get a ton of "noise" on forums ... the idea is to sift the chaff from the wheat ... it's just too bad there is so much chaff that it makes it hard.

  10. After the first few moments of a flashpoint you will have the option of looting things. If the other members of your group are playing by the rules (need, greed, disassemble) then just leave the group high and dry.

I guess you are not aware that in "normal mode" operations there is no "need / greed" pop-up window. Your assigned gear with no way to pass on stuff you already have.

Absolutely no reason I can possibly think of to not allow a person to "pass" on loot they don't want and allow it to go to another person that actually does want the loot.

Pisses me off so much that I have pretty much stopped running normal modes Ops cause I don't like taking gear away from other players that can use it.

  11. The problem here really is the "release back to med center". Revive next time and you won't have the problem.

I don't know that they can "fix" the red door issue ... cause that is what this really is.

Apply what you are asking to the entire game and then see if it make sense.

    A) You enter a "green door" (Story Area).

    B) You kill a bunch of stuff, including the boss.

    C) You forget to loot *something*

    D) You Leave through the Green Door

    E) Door Turns Red

No .. wait ... the door doesn't Turn Red ... cause you left loot on the floor decaying .. so the door stays green. This is what your asking the game to do.

So the Door is green and you continue on ... and then you finish the next step of the mission and you head back to the green door to proceed ... and what do you find? Yes, you guessed it ... a dead quest boss on the floor ... with some stupid minion back in the corner with loot rotting causing the game engine to keep the "Green Door" open. You curse the game for being broken and not giving you the next step of the mission.

The issue is with how Story Area's work ... and how they keep you out once the STORY IS DONE. There is no real difference between a flash point story and any other story.

Changing the "Green Door" to sometimes stay "Green" because there is loot rotting on a corpse is probably not going to happen. Changing the Green Door to stay Green only when X, Y and Z and the stars align else turn Red probably isn't going to happen either.

What they should do is put a confirmation on the "release to med center" when it means the door will be red. ie: If you release to Med Center now, you can not get back in ... are you sure you want that?".

Cause that is the real issue ... it's not the Green Door being Red .. it's letting you release to the Med Center without knowing the Door will be Red. Yes, that means you might have to *wait* for your loot cause you got a rez timer ... but I just don't see them spending any programming cycles on making the Green Door not turn Red if the stars align just right.

  12. level it to level 10 , ride the shuttle to fleet, problem solved, i have a lvl 10 inq bank toon , its not that hard you can do it in an hour or two if you skip bonus crap and just breeze thru the story stuff

The amount of people talking out the side of their necks is really astounding

10 is not the magic number to leave a starter planet. I got a level 7 off the other day. Trying for more around 5 or 6 with this one.

Not sure where the *floor* is but if more of you one celled trolled stopped yapping and promoted real discussion, I might not be stuck figuring out where the bottom actually is.

  13. cant do it now until you reach level 10

    This is wrong ...

I have a level 7 that I just got off the planet ... I believe it was after the first quest line on koriban ... long before I got a comp.

checking on the BH now to see how far I have to go. Lots of people that don't have a clue answering this question.

  14. No one knows. We don't have access to that information. Play the one you like.

    Not true ...

I know many raid leaders that just will flat out not take certain DPS Class / Spec due to having those classes tends to make the groups hit enrage timers.

You can argue that *everybody* that plays those particular classes / specs are terrible and that all of don't know a rotation from a hole in the ground ... and they all just stepped off the banana boat gear wise ... but really? your really going to say the community doesn't have any idea? really?

Please .. stop giving bad advice ... leastwise somebody wants to do solid DPS and picks a terrible class / spec for it and ends up having to *re-roll* cause you told them "just play what you like".

  15. See my post entitled best dps class for the definitive answer to this question.

    Stop trolling ...

Anecdotal evidence is better then nothing ...

The reality is that when somebody has to choose a class, telling them "stop asking" is not doing them any favors. Trying to avoid FOTM is one thing, trying to be an obstructionist is quite another.

Once combat logs come in, we will get some *definitive* answers ... and guess what? they are probably going to be pretty damed close to the anecdotal conclusions came to.

So ... just go with the flow based upon real gaming experience.

  16. But WHY random loot?

Why not make a loot table that reads the base classes in the actual op and drops gear they can use?

*** is the point of dropping wis robes in a group of a Jugg, 2 BH, and a healspec IA?

You know ... maybe you should become a game developer ... you have such good ideas.

    /sarcasm off

Seriously ... if you don't know the answer to that question let me give you a clue: Google

Yea ... that's right ... go educate yourself on the topic. There are very real and valid reasons for why ALL the game developers do random drops off a loot list.

    /beat moar dead horses

  17. First off, yes, there are a lot of fights, probably the majority that are easier with ranged.

Having said that, Sorc / Sage are by far the most popular classes. More times then not there are 3 or 4 of them in my Ops groups ... and that's on my main and on my alt.

    Sorc / Sage = Ranged ...

As far as *chasing* off healers ... the game is about DPS, not heals ... what gives us healers a hard time are BAD DPS not killing stuff fast enough. So if you want to have healers like you ... step up your game and kill stuff faster.

Yes, fights are not melee friendly ... no, melee is not the most popular class by far ... not even close.

  18. The actual complaints are: I got loot I didn't need / somebody else needed more.

The answer is NOT Master Looter.

The answer is to allow the need / greed option to apply to those pieces.

Reality check: ML can cause *bigger drama* problems then random loot drops. It's one thing to not get your piece ... it's another to not get your piece cause the RL gave it to somebody else.

Considering how CareBear BW is, doesn't surprise me they don't want to have those issues happening right now.

Besides, without a /roll that shows up on every ones screen, ML is a really bad idea for pugs.

  19. We had it glitch on HM once ... then again, we tried the "kill everything south, then kill everything north" method.

We then completed it successfully the next try by doing 2 things.

    1) Splitting the groups up correctly

    2) Completing the tiers in this order: T1: North, T2: South: T3: South, T4: North

Basically we had the north group solve T1 first ... then South solved T1 then went on to solve T2 ... north solved T2 then waited for south to Solve T3. North then Solved T3 and Solved T4 ... south then solved T4 and we finished.

Pain in the ***, but it worked ... on hard mode.

  20. Maybe you got a virus? :-)

I have not experienced any of the problems you have had. Then again, I had heard that some "options" you choose during dialogs (light / dark) can make certain chests bug out.

BTW, doing a Hard Mode ONCE then complaining about the outcome is pretty weak sauce. Try complaining after the same thing in a HM FP bugs out on you several times in a row.

  21. I would be happy with at least a combat log which BW said they are working on. Once we get a combat log, we can at least look and see what killed somebody ... and we can pretty much get a solid feel for what everyone is doing DPS wise.

On the flip side, you will get the general "Meter Haters" that, once you strip aways the non-sense arguments boils down to: Baddie players that believe they are ENTITLED to GROUP with Good players so they can be CARRIED through content, while their BADNESS remains hard to prove.

That's pretty much what all their arguments boil down to. Hopefully BW will not cater to the BADDIES and give the rest of the community the tools want to do basic / standard MMO stuff.

Not having a combat log is pretty dam bad though ... really hard trying to figure out the mechanics of Ops bosses when you can't scroll back to figure out what ability killed a player.

  22. The east coast pvp servers were flagged "full" when I got the game (the Friday after launch), so I followed Bioware's advise and joined a light/standard pop server instead.

I've never once had a problem in any other MMO of finding people that love to pvp but roll on a pve server for a better leveling experience.

You should have joined a PvP Server ... period. Full or not full ... if you wanted to PvP, then choose a PvP. BTW, coast doesn't really matter. I am west coast on an East Coast server and it doesn't appear to have affected me.

So, it doesn't sound like 1.1 is your issue ... it sounds like your server choice was your issue. Doesn't matter if other MMO's have a lot of PvP happening on PvE servers ... this is not other MMO's and, again, you should have choosen a PvP server ... period.

So either man up and reroll on a PvP server, or wait for more of your server to get to 50 to start PvP'ing.

Or quit ... but I generally only quit a game if I don't like it ... I am guessing you like the game, but don't like the outcome of your poor starting choice. If you play to play for years, then just re-choose now ... it's a small investment that should pay large dividends.

  23. I am not sure I see this as a priority in any way, shape or form.

There is very little content, if any, where having the *exact* size of the AoE would make much of a difference ... let alone a positive meaningful difference.

Sure, on my Sorc, trying to AoE Trash it's tricky making sure all the mobs are inside the damage radius on "some pulls" ... but that is how it should be. A game should require a small amount of skill to play well.

So I would vote no ... this change is NOT needed and would actually take away from the game. We really don't need the game to be "easier" per say.
