  1. First people QQ that there is too much of a gap between sets of pvp gear. And now, low and behold, people QQ about there being too small of a gap between sets of pvp gear. God forbid they take away your excuse for losing WZ after WZ. But of course, that's because the other team had too many dual flashlight brigades or too many pyros or healers or stealthers or whatever <insert excuse here>.
  2. The reason why planets are linear is because they divided the "world" into multiple planets.

Back in vanilla WoW, they only needed 2 continents, Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. And WoW can just focus on making this one world seamless. All the zones are seamless because they can be connected to one another.

SW:TOR has to create that galaxy feel and divide those zones into multiple planets. If you want them to create every planet to be as big as vanilla Azeroth, it may require too much development time.

Edit: What's done is done for the existing planets. But maybe for future planets, they can do what WoW did.

Burning Crusades introduced the Outlands. Maybe for SW:TOR's new explansion they can do something similar, just one planet, but make it a big seamless one.

I could see them having an expansion that only consists of one or two planets that are as big as Azeroth.

Kashyyyk and/or Trandosha would be nice. Kessel as well, but I couldn't see it being any bigger than Quesh.

  3. Please make legacy account wide instead of just server wide.

I have 10 characters spread over 2 servers but I have to level the legacies seperately. Doesn't make sense.

It makes even less sense since they made Legacy names non-unique.
  4. One or the other would be nice...

I for one am tired of my server. I rolled on it with a prelaunch guild, which has been dead since about April. But the server hasn't been all that great since launch and just got worse when rabble from other servers were forced in and even more so with hordes of noobs and QQ'ers that came with f2p. I've since rolled toons on other servers and found one to my liking. But I don't want to grind out another legacy and it'd be nice if I could just transfer over my current toons for a fee or at least if legacy were made cross server so I'd only have to worry about regrinding crew skills.

  5. This is a story focused MMO. You know what would actually help it's long lasting appeal without much work? The ability to replay the story. Please make it happen. Thank you.

Also, yes, I know this type of thread gets posted a lot by loads of people. The more it's posted, the more likely it'll eventually get read by someone at BioWare. One would hope anyway.

Why can't you just reroll the same class again and play through the entire story again?
  6. This was debated at length years before launch... the official answer has always been Player Ships.

Granted, it would be nice if we had some customization options, even little stuff like a set of sliders to choose different decor or something.

  7. A plausible reason why Bioware is catering to F2P players is to keep the new F2P playerbase sticking around. Easy access to speeders would surely encourage me to stick around longer to keep exploring swtor.

I'm just hoping Bioware is slowrolling this whole F2P transition and we loyal subbers get rewarded big in the end.

We loyal subscribers get rewarded via "free" cartel coins for every month we sub. So, in a way they're basically giving us everything that can be purchased on with cartel coins for nothing more than being a loyal subscriber. Granted, it will take time to be able to purchase everything for all twelve characters, but it's from doing nothing more than we have already loyally been doing for a year now.

As for those who are irked over things they had to grind for now being almost handed out, it happens in just about every MMO out there. Does it suck, yes, but it's just the way that it is. Eventually some of those things we grinded countless hours to obtain will become completely obsolete in the game... it happens.

  8. 1. PvP here has no progression in PvE. Yes, let's grab our tionese gear and get facerolled in HM TfB until we get enough Sympathy Commendations to get our Hazmat Dread Guard gear. Occasionally, there may be an easy HM FP boss that we'll be on par with. Once I get my dread guard gear after about 4 months, I'll be able to be on par with the toughest, and faceroll through anything else.

The above is not true progression. Progression is greems playing HM FPS to PROGRESS to OPS to get Columi to be able to play things of the sort HM OPS... etc. Lv 1s getting to lv 2s. Being forced to play lv 2 content/ A level 50 playing lv 1 content does not progress. However, in swtor a wh player gets the exact same reward from out skilling a wh player and out gearing a recruit player.

    2. Gear progression is NOT central to an RPG. Maybe some MMOs, but not RPGs. RPG Definition is a ROLE PLAYING GAME. All this pretty much means is to create your own character. Even basic RPGs from Dungeons and Dragons and Pokemon to complex Mass Effect and Dragon Age type things don't pin you high level content from low levels or vice versa (see above)! The difference between LV 10s in greens playing full BM 50s in pre 1.1 is indeed different from Recruit 50s playing full E/Wh 50s. However, there is still an imbalance.

People pre 1.1 whined for brackets because there was an imbalance. Their logic was that

Imbalance => Not fun, stupid, fix, etc.

The problem is, there is still an imbalance, so by the same logic the PvP gear needs fixing. Either from brackets or removal altogether. Brackets does basically the same thing (So long as you can make it so they can't change their gear in a wz), and actually makes it PROGRESSION. Since you will be playing A to get to B to get to C, instead of playing A B and C.

RPGs should be about strategically gearing up, not out-gearing your opponent. Big difference, there, and if you don't know it, it's the difference here:

    Strategically gearing up:

    Do I want X endurance and Y strength or X + 1 endurance and Y - 1 strength?

    Out gearing:

Do I want X endurance and Y strength or X + 1 endurance and Y + 1 strength? Hmmm, no reason to take the former, it's worse all around!

It's like letting tanks have the same mainstat as DPS and heals, but still having more endurance. There is no trade off, it's simply better.

It would somewhat fix the problem if they had level 50 brackets based on valor rank. The downside though would be longer queue waits, unless they implemented cross server WZ's. And it wouldn't have to be anything complicated, just level 50 valor rank 1-69 bracket, level 50 valor rank 70+ bracket and leave everything else essentially the same. People would still complain about how bad Recruit gear is, but at least they would only be going up against people in full Battlemaster as opposed to full War Hero.
  9. 1. Reward for open-world pvp, even 1 valor pt. would be better than the reality of what is... and not to reward ganking, but if the player you have just killed is a higher level or one to two levels below you, you should get some sort of reward... anything, just something more than nothing.

    2. Post creation customization. Tattoos, haircuts, armor emblems, something.

    3. Interior ship customization. Anything, seriously. Trophy case, color scheme, something.

    4. Armor color customization. I'm grateful that they finally re-implemented the color match and later implemented if for companions as well. But I would love to have the ability to customize the base and trim colors of my armor.

    5. Gear emblems for guilds or various achievements.

  10. hi I am tatics at lvl 32
There's your problem... wrong spec if you want to feel ungodly when it comes to damage.

EDIT: it's an old vid, but it's still relevant.

  11. Why are all of you letting the 300 die? Its a simple choice really, one man or 300 men?

Exactly, it's the whole "Spock" thing... needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or one.

Also, I must be one of the few that never felt any real connection with Jaxo other than that she wanted to jump my toon's bones...

  12. He pulls a rocket launcher out of nowhere and proceeds to layeth the smackdown on their candyasses. Worth it for the hilarity alone.
And occasionally he says "boom boom" and laughs... Also, I love his crew skills fail message, wish the cs success sounded as cool.
  13. PT/VG Pyro/AS

I didn't believe how redonkulous it was til I rolled one. I had a PT that I went Carolina Parakeet with and I do alright in WZ's with full War Hero... I rolled a VG and went Assault Specialist(Pyro) and in full recruit gear I do over 400 dps consistently WZ after WZ. Yeah, it's squishy and without heals I die a lot whereas with my PT I have tons of survivability, but I rarely get over 200 dps with PT. And in the 10-49 bracket, my VG tore it up.

As for what server, I would not recommend Jung Ma, poor RP and carebear rich PVP.

  14. I don't read chat until we lose a node. :rak_03:

And then I type, "W.T.F. GRASS NO CALL!?"

And then they respond, "Scroll up a**hole!"

And then I say, "TYPE LOUDER!!!!11!!11"

    :ph_win:

If I'm doing pug pvp, I've just learned that it doesn't matter if you're in vent/mumble/teamspeak with them or just /ops, n008 pugs are n008 pugs. I used to yell at them and try to help them L2P, but I've found it far less frustrating just to fi and farm comms when they clearly need to L2P. I mean, I used to spend the majority of a WZ yelling and/or typing things like "stop zerging", "only one needs to cap, go cc", "get away from the damn ledge and/or endzone when they have the ball", "focus fire healers", "GD FF HEALZ", "watch the node", "fight on node", etc, etc...

  15. Pyro/AS for PT/VG

In full recruit gear I pulled over 400 dps on Voidstar on my AS/VG...

I'm currently working on changing over my ST/PT to Pyro, but it's hard giving up full war hero for battlemaster

  16. I think you may be a bit confused as to the term "carebear" and what it actually means...

For the record, carebears in MMOs are simply anti-PvP. I know. I've killed plenty of them in EVE. :D

Actually the term has evolved over the past ten years or so... Yes, they are anti-pvp and are generally those QQ'ing about being ganked on a pvp server, but the term has expanded to include most of the general population of QQ'ers in MMO's.
  17. I just got into this game after finally getting a new rig and i love everything about it. I don't understand why so many people hate on this game. how could you play such a story driven mmo and then go back to boring old wow where you don't even read the damn quest logs or anything for that matter :rak_02:
    Welcome to game forums...

Most of those who QQ about SWTOR either expected or wanted something different, the rest are just the generic "carebears" who will QQ regardless.

  18. In short, it provides less time spent on errand quests so that you can focus on the story.

    The full explanation:

So I like this game. I like Bioware and Star Wars. I also don't have the time i used to, to play MMO's and one of my criticisms about this game was that there were too many distractions from the main plot.

Let me explain that a bit. I got really into the Imperial Agent, and I wanted to keep going, but the flow of the game made me do side quests and flashpoints. Which is fine, its decent content. After completing a character to level 50, having done my time grinding out a few alts, I don't really want to do it again. (grinding)

I like good stories, and i love being immersed into games. I want the ability to run my plot with the character i made and designed, spec'd, and gave a back story to, without the need to level up again.

I want to play my story in the custom pieces of armor that i collected. I want to keep my high level abilities when i fight. I just want to experience the story back to back without going on a tangent on some other quest line. You know, kind of like doing a New Game + in Mass Effect, where you have all your powers maxed, large amount of money, and current weapons/inventory.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who plays this game and enjoys a good story. Wouldn't it be nice to do it again without the need to grind, or buy xp boosts? And just focus on your character?

Perhaps as an incentive, if New Story + existed, players could unlock special appearance items only found by doing this.

Does this answer your questions? Maybe give a clearer understanding on what I'm talking about?

When it comes to MMO's, when most people really really really like a class and want to play it again, they just reroll . As for not having the time and not wanting the grind, welcome to MMO's... The whole replay the story with the same character works really well for single player rpg's, not too sure it'd be the same for MMO's.
