[Why do we hate midi-chlorians?]

First appearance of anything remotely related to Midi-chlorians was in Jedi Search, by Kevin J. Anderson, when Luke found a force detector that the Emperor used to hunt Jedi. So when I saw midi-clohrians in Phantom Menace I thought, "Cool, that kinda explains it a bit better... though not the same..." Not sure if I like that it's so easy to find out how Force Sensitive someone is from a blood test. Kinda like the Force is some sort of virus.

 

The thing about this device, however, just said if the person was force sensitive by an aura.

 

Also something to note: Jedi Search? 1994. Phantom Menace? 1999.
