  1. Welcome mate - I'll take a wild guess here and take it that you are kinda new here . . .

    It's a little sweet really, so Ill go easy - 3 soon to be 4 years into the game - may I suggest some research before you greet us with you're brilliant solutions;

    - About cross server and swtor

    - About the Hero engine and it's limitations, and what it means for swtor pvp

I most kindly request that you do some research and then have a go at it again . . .

    cheers ;)

Thank you for the condescending response. I am aware that cross server would actually take time and resources, that doesnt change the fact that it is needed. Also, I was in beta but have only played off and on 3-4 months at a time. It has nothing to do with the engine, it has to do with the way they have structured their servers. Its simple, but time consuming, I would explain it for you but, in your words, "I most kindly request that you do some research and then have a go at it again."

    Cheers?

  2. So why? Why? Do you hate PvP so much? I realize that you get your Subscriptions and money regardless, but if you logged the time spent on your game PvPers vs. PvEers you would see that the majority is vastly in favor of PvP. So why not make it a priority? Your recent buff to healing, no clue why this is taking place. 1 Guard taunting and/or multiple healers makes this broken. Scoundrel/Operative Healers cannot be killed if there is more than one.

Before this, I would say, ok, let me just queue ranked. That's great, but since you removed Ranked PvP Commendations, you killed Ranked PvP. I've sat for 2 hours in queue waiting, no queue. You killed it.

    On the plus side.

    1) I have a solution for you. Group all Warzones cross-server so the Queue times shrink, LINK THEM ALL. Remove regions, link all Ranked together.

    Once you have done #1...

    2) Make queuing for Warzones role specific just as if they were running an Instance or Operation.

No more than 2 Healers, no more than 2 Tanks, Rest DPS.

I'm not sure if your PvP team never PvPs or what, but they have no clue what breaks PvP in this game.

On the flip side, if you just hate PvP, come out and say it, tell us, or remove it from the game all together so we can move on and find another game to play. We only play this because of Star Wars anyway. We love Star Wars. Otherwise, no one would subject themselves to the repeated imbalances you guys create.

  3. So I've fought this Gunslinger repeatedly tonight and he has 100% uptime on CC immunity regardless of Resolve bar. Can someone explain this to me how this is possible? I'm at a loss, I can't find in the abilities how it is, but apparently it is because I've seen it.
  4. Peels, node guarding, good utility for hutball (pull+leap) group debuffs and guarding key targets like squish dps and heals.

Regardless of what I have heard I think PT tanks are in a pretty good spot right now as far as 'pure' tanks are, they are not as far behind jugs as they used to be.

You are also the single best Ball Carrier/Healer killer in game, with your Harpoon and Automatic Root. If you use primarily dps gear, then you can pump out some better than average damage with some pretty good burst.

  5. Here's a simple idea to make player bounties work:

Bring back daily/weekly Illum to bring people to the planet. When you enter pvp area on Illum you may get a bounty from terminal located in your base. The terminal gives you a bounty on specific player from other faction who is currently in the area(it's chosen at random to avoid kill trading) . To complete the bounty you need to kill the player. If the player leaves the area(by joining a WZ/logging out or just leaving) you lose the bounty, but you get assigned to another player automatically. If you leave the area you automatically fail the bounty too.

Same system may be implemented on all planets, but with level restrictions. Players above certain level can't get bounties on players so there would not be roaming 50+ players on low level planets killing lowbies. The bounty could specify the location where the player was seen too(not direct location though) to make the hunt a bit more interesting.

On PvE servers only flagged players would be chosen for bounties - so yea PvE servers would be kind of screwed, but if you wanted to pvp you shouldn't have roll on PvE server(same with the opposite if you didn't want to PvP you shouldn't roll on PvP server).

I like this idea quite a bit. Very simple solution to a greater problem.

  6. Bounty system with players will never work in this game. As much as I think it would be a great idea, it is just 100% impossible to implement when players NEVER have to leave the fleet. My juggernaut for example has not left the fleet for probably 7 or 8 months. I do not do dailies on him and all my income comes from his crafting. I have no reason to leave the fleet, so anyone who put a bounty on me would never see the light of day of that bounty.

The only way that system would work is if you came across me in a warzone, which is about the only place you will ever see me and making bounties apply in a warzone is a TERRIBLE idea. We have enough bad players as it is, we do not need more flooding the warzones to have even more excuses to not play the objective.

This isn't an open world game like SWG. Let it go already.

It could work actually. You aren't looking for specific bounties, just any Opposite faction player who is level 55.

  7. BW,

First off, let me say that I am a subscriber, I enjoy your game overall and I love Star Wars. That being said, I am sick of Warzones. Give us some other way that is feasible to gain Commendations for PvP. I love PvP. What I don't love is 5/10 matches that I play being short handed by 1-2 people.

Give us a bounty system at 55 (vs level 55 players) for World PvP to gain commendations or something, but please, don't drive me into Warzones in order to gain commendations and get "PvP" gear, since you already made it to where the "PvP gear" is a must to be highly competitive in PvP.

Let me also say that I am not in a guild, I don't plan to be in a guild, and I don't want to be. I am the last remnant of a very close 20+ member guild to still be playing this game. You could say that I am a bit of a loner. I play this game to play against other players in a Star Wars setting, that, and I truly enjoy your game. Now, I understand that I handicap myself by doing this, but I pay just the same as everyone else.

I was around for the disaster that was Ilum, I enjoyed the idea of it, players are who ruined that, most of whom are no longer playing.

A simple bounty system to award 50 or so commendations for World PvP kills, each having to be turned in, before another can be picked up, would be sufficient for me, and, I think, alot of others.

  8. Now ask yourself what you would like more:

1-Players can't leave (for different reasons like 15 mins ban on WS's) and so they sit in a corner "defending" something aka going AFK.

    2-Allow players to leave.

From my POV its better for them to leave then go AFK in corner....

Actually, I would prefer the 1st one, because then the person can only screw up 1 warzone instead of every single one they decide to quit in. And if they do decide to sit afk, that's what votekick is for.

  9. The Autocrit to everyone is the issue. If Mercs had a skill that was auto crit...

All classes get 1 or 2 things they are really good at. Some tip the scales too much, for instance, Operative Healers.

  10. I like huttball. You clearly you just bad at it. Because honestly It's my favorite of all the WZ

It is my favorite too. I play a Combat Sentinel, rarely am I even in the top 5 in damage, but I love it because of the utility my AC can bring to it.

  11. Rush two nodes with scamper/roll and then have 3/4 of your team respec to heal + tank and def till it's over.

I actually think Respec is saving Warzones. With Rated Warzones its tougher because people are planning to respec after they capture things.

In unrated Warzones, it is a savior, the problem is that people don't spend the 200k to be able to do it. I constantly see Commandos, Scoundrels, and Sages still in dps spec even without any other healers.

What it boils down to is, do you want to win? Or, do you want to feed your epeen? Most people want to be fed, instead of taking one for the team.

For me, I play Sentinel, I could play Smash spec every single time and out dps everyone in the warzone, but in Huttball and Voidstar, I go Combat for the team speed boosts, and guess what, 8/10 times it is the deciding factor in our wins.

People just need to learn to play a role.

  12. Greetings!

So, I got to level 50 last night, and decided to complete the class quest today. As some of you no doubt know, the final fight is against the Emperor. No sweat!

The real issue here is that T7-01 is the only available companion. He's in level 14 gear, simply because I've used other companions ever since I got Kira. I assume this is the case for a lot of Guardians out there, especially Defense specced ones. Later on, the obvious companion choice is Doc, regardless of spec.

So what to do? I have a hard time getting the Emperor even to 50%, let alone kill the guy. That's just not happening. Not as long as I have a completely undergeared companion capable of doing no damage whatsoever and tanking for about two hits and then he goes squash.

Here's what I suggest: Remove T7-01 from the fight as well somehow, making it a solo fight, tuned as a solo fight. Right now it's tuned as a proper boss fight, but in reality most people will be doing it solo since their companion is completely worthless at that point.

My only other alternative right now is to get out of Dromund Kaas (which I already have), and then start to gear up T7-01, which I'm not very interested in to be honest as I have no use for him beyond that one fight.

Anyway, just wanted to vent a little frustration here after dying way too many times in the ancient temple on Dromund Kaas, while also providing some feedback.

Spec Focus, AOE down the extra mobs, make sure to interrupt his 1 shot kill. Profit.

  13. I switched to T7... spent all my credits upgrading him... utilized Overload Saber as much as possible... and the result is... still dying and not killing fast enough. At least T7 died first. Even he seems squishy. Of course it's not easy getting the really good upgrades since the auction doesn't really provide much.

So I just logged out, my sentinel lying dead... in more ways than one. I'll keep sending tickets to support about this everyday since my frustration is driving me to do so. This is really pathetic. You would think these issues would have been worked out in beta. I wish the sentinel wasn't so damn cool and broken at the same time. Playing anything else is lame. Guess I can try the Sith Warrior... at least he gets a healer at about level 20... might make the difference. Companions are nice but you should "HAVE" to have one to play the game.

I spent the last 3-4 weeks leveling 1-53 and I have had no issues whatsover except on Corellia. For some reason Doc just couldn't keep heals up. I also traded Watchman for Focus even in PvE. Unless you are in a group doing Flashpoints, you don't want to use Watchman.

  14. Tell me if I am missing something but I just watched and fought in 2 separate Warzones an Operative who opened up, then proceeded to range attack me while rolling across the screen as if he's rolling to cover, except his not, he's rolling in a straight line across a Warzone? Can someone explain this please?
  15. Well they do exist, in fact one of the members even streamed it several times. (Won't give the stream name). He's under the impression it is legal, as are the others. What I find to be sad is these players also talk a lot of trash, and when we found out they used programs a lot of their credibility went out the window, more so now that you guys are saying its against the TOS.

If it's against the ToS then why allow them to remain anonymous. That makes you just as guilty as they do. Think of it as if you witnessed a robbery and need to report it.

  16. Working as intended. Operatives are the squishiest healers and have the least escape mechanisms, they're almost a free kill. That's why they were given some rather solid heal spells. It's not OP. Will be buffed soon, probably.

    you forgot /sarcasm
