  1. People will still want to earn the gear for the set bonuses. I can say for myself, being in a guild that takes raiding seriously but is never super hard core, we tend to need to overgear ourselves to do the hardest content. We also tend to rotate people and pug a lot, so we don't consistently get all the gear for all our regular members. We'll probably craft some pieces to fill in what we're missing.

Too bad you can't get the set bonuses with doing hardmode flashpoints. :(

  2. Let me get my friends to run me through the class quests, I'll have all the datacron bonuses by level 20, and probably a whole lot sooner. No, I think that the best is to unlock them at max level.

Really? THAT's your argument against it? How many players will do that? I'd bet not enough to make it even worth talking about. If you - and your friends - want to waste your time that way feel free to enjoy those minor stat bonuses at level 20.

  3. 2. You do not get the unlock, on your alts, until they hits LvL 50.... If you get them all unlocked, you will make a new toon that is a "super toon" with all those stats boost. OR maybe they unlock, as you complete each planet on new toons. But no one should get all those stats as soon as you create a toon.

A "super toon"? Nah. It's only what? +30 to each of the stats, +40 to endurance & presence? That's hardly enough to create a "super toon". Yes, leveling might get easier in the first few levels. But it's hardly enough the totally unbalance things. And: If you collected all the datacrons already, i'd say you deserve a little faster leveling anyway. :)

To not get *all* the stats after creating the toon they could just unlock the datacrons once you complete your storyquest for the planet they're on. To only unlock them all at Lv50 only would be kinda pointless. :)

  5. 5000cc for account wide unlock

    1200cc per character unlock

So is this what you guys want?

They probably wouldn't do it completely free; it would be somewhat unfair to those who have grind out on multiple toons.

How is that 'unfair' to anyone? Those people had their benefits - the stat points - way earlier than anyone else.

  6. I wanted to ask the community's opinion. here's what happened today:

    was i wrong?

My guardian tank in full 66s has (unbuffed) 29,634hp - Mitigation > Endurance. So quitting because a tank has <30k HP is kinda wrong, yeah. Except if it's a lot less than that. ;)

  7. MIND. BLOWN.

Seriously. I have no idea what that is supposed to mean!! 2.3? 2.2.1? 2.1.2? NEW EXPANSION!?

^^^That is the only problem with being so vague Eric =) Although, in all fairness, I only have to wait a day to see it.

More super awesome cartel market stuff? :rak_02::rak_09:

*sets out a plate of nice still warm gooey chocolate chip cookies in front of Eric*

Are you sure you don't want to tell us something today?

*sneaks in and steals some cookies*

    nom!

  8. No one knows? :(

I tried Googling around about the issue but I couldn't find very many details, or any confirmation about whether this is intended design or something messed-up about my Ops frames.

Do other healers have the same issue with Ops frames only showing 4 useless buffs?

I've recently started healing as a scoundrel and am experiencing the same problem ... only shows the four most useless buffs in the operation frames and never my HoTs. Kinda hard to keep track of them that way ... wish there was a way to only let it show my own buffs... :(

  9. None. I will not pay CC to use the kiosk.

I can agree with monetizing race and name changes, but as a subscriber, regardless of stipend availability, I just can't accept paying additional real world value to change my haircut.

This. I used my monthly 'stipend' to unlock the cathar and created me a smuggler - which i like very much - but i won't pay cc to use the kiosk.

  10. Here we go again, but this time I'd like to hear some input on ideas to group people based on the number of FP the toon has run. The game keeps track of accomplishments, why cant it keep track of the number of times the toon has run a FP. Base the GF on this and group accordingly. This way the peeps who have run it 10+ times, wont be grouped with a first timer.

I, playing a guardian tank, like running with first timers. They're generally more calm about finishing the instance and actually let me do the pulls, won't run around like headless chickens and aren't always about "PULL!! PULL!!11 SKIP!! PRESS SPACE!!!11" ....

    ;)

  11. Thanks, yeah they just got put up.

Any ideas what exactly these mean?

Does that mean there's exactly 1 new option for each of those? Or is it saying there's multiple but each will cost 240 CC?

Judging from the wording i'd say there are multiple new hairstyles in the pack "Human Hairstyles 1", multiple colours in "Human Hair Colors 1",... and those packs will cost 240/180/90/100cc.

  12. You say that like all they have to do is add a check box and they're done. It's not that easy. They obviously didn't do the artwork for Down Hoods for any of the Hood Up Chest pieces. Want proof? Just put one on a Twi'lek. Is there a Down Hood there? No.

That means they have to do new artwork for every set in the game that has a Hood, either Up or Down, so that they all have both versions. Only after they've done this can they actually add the Toggle to switch between them. That takes time to do and artists to do it and since their artists are also busy coming up with new stuff for the Cartel Market all the time they probably have a limited number (maybe even just one) of them working on the Hood Toggle. Be grateful if we get it within the year.

I doubt they'll create those "hood down" artworks - more likely the toggle will just make the hood disappear, as it happens for Twi'leks and with some headpieces.

  13. Obviously the bug would have been very beneficial to players in some way.

    Nope, not the case.

The bug was explained by EricMusco in this Thread. Quote:

I got the all clear to explain to all of you what the bug we encountered was to hopefully give some visibility into our decision. What we encountered was a user interface bug where buffs and debuffs were no longer displaying any form of graphical countdown to show their duration. AKA that little white overlay which disappears slowly as an ability is timing out was gone.

I know at first glance that might sound really minor, but think about it during your actual gameplay. Any class which has a DoT, HoT, debuff, buff, or proc that has a duration would no longer be able to "at-a-glance" see how long was remaining on that skill.

When looking at this bug we felt that it would make some Classes, especially those based around DoTs and HoTs very difficult to play. The last thing we want to do is introduce a bug which, for a subset of entire Advanced Classes, makes the game frustrating to play. Because of this we opted to push this Game Update until we could work on correcting the bug.

I hope that gives you all a bit of insight into the bug and our decision to delay the patch.

  14. The mobs in the Heroic 4 on Makeb (Savage Skies) were downright frustrating. 2-3 silvers that each have a knockback+root, and golds that loved to stun me. No one was in fear of death because the healer I had with me was good, but it was still frustrating as hell.

I wholeheartedly agree with that. Tanking those groups was frustrating as hell - they've sure overdone it in that mission with all those knockbacks & roots.

  15. I agree that the limit is way too low. But you don't lose commendations "without warning" - once you get close to the limit (somewhere around 40 i think) you're reminded everytime you pick up a new commendation. Kinda annoying after a time. ;)

Edit: Nevermind - you only seem to get the warnings *before* you reach that cap. If you pick up commendations while you've already have the limit you don't get another warning. Still: Those 10 warnings or so should be enough to get rid of some.
