  1. I know it's still early and things may still change but I'm wondering which skills you are finding so far to have a nice bit of profit?

Slicing right now seems to be pretty hot with all other skills needing tech parts.

Biochem not having reusable should be a boost for the market

I've read some people saying Synthweaving is nice and profitable now but I'm not sure.

    What are your thoughts?

  3. Vanguard had the best crafting system. Lets talk about crafting that require you to make decision and a wrong one would result in a fail or a lower grade result.

Totally agree. I loved Vanguard's crafting system. i was really bummed when Stargate Worlds was cancelled because the lead designer for the crafting was the one from Vanguard.

Today I think FF XIV is the closest thing to Vanguard in my book.

  4. A STUDY OF MISSION SKILLS AS RELATED TO COMPANION GIFTS

Third is a time factor. You must travel to Fleet and make these fragment transactions, plus you must research just what gifts are more valuable at a given point in time. This is a measure of efficiency. If you used this time sending out missions instead of exchanging fragments, wouldn't you be ahead? This shall also be measured.

This is the only premise that you stated that I feel is a wrong vision. There's is nothing stopping you from either travelling to the Fleet, doing research or really anything WHILE a mission is running. Doing these things doesn't mean you can't be running a mission in the background.

But aside from that, great job of research, analysis and report!

  5. Currently, you only see 5 missions (out of 10-15) per "tier" when choosing which crew skill mission to run.

So if you're trying to run a specific mission (e.g. there are only 2 missions in Treasure Hunting that have a chance of returning Midlithe) you have to do this thing called the "relog dance" where you bounce back and forth between strongholds to refresh the randomized list, just to get the ones you want.

However, this is changing in 4.0. Here's a link to dulfy's coverage of the recent livestream:

    http://dulfy.net/2015/09/30/swtor-knights-of-fallen-empire-livestream-coverage/#New_features_coming_with_the_expansion

In the Crafting Changes section, it says this:

    :D

    Thanks for the clarification.

  6. this thread does specifically focus on TH leveling, not "end game".

I did start the thread asking which missions to focus on while leveling TH but I'm thoroughly enjoying where the thread went with Companion Gifts efficiency.

Maybe we could rename the thread or move these post to a new one but please carry on :)

It'll be nice when 4.0 removes the need to relog.

Can I ask what you mean here?

I'm not very up to date about the 4.0 news.

  7. Basically true however I noticed that when I went to Balmorra after Nar Shaddaa that Zash told me something along the lines of "ah how are you enjoying your new ship?" when I had already had several conversation through the hologram when I was in Nar Shaddaa.

But yeah aside from that ...

  8. Tell you what. Seeing as how I'm running a bunch of gift missions already across multiple toons, I'll do the following:

Sounds awesome! Depends how much patience and will you have but if you could run 50-100 across each skill it would be a decent sample size.

Also I ran some Abundant and Bountiful TH missions this morning (lower level tough) and when you get fragments you sometimes get others stuff in the return, so it's not that big a loss if you you're not just interested in gifts.

  9. Man Titus, I picked Lightning for now but hearing your description almost makes me twitch to see my trainer....

I'm 25-26 right now so my rotations tend to go Crushing Darkness -> Affliction -> Force Storm (Love!) -> Procced Chain Lightning -> Force Lightning to finish them of if still standing -> Free Lightning Strike if needed.

For packs I don't even bother and just Lightning Storm -> Chain Lightning.

  10. Nah trust me guys i know. I keep my mods on orange gear, gear and companion stuffed and up to date but when I finished Dromund Kaas I was already level 20 or 21 so both where green to me and I didn't think to check the galaxy map for the level range.

So more of a "duh!" moment I wanted to share to show how someone who's played MMOs for 10+ years can still do some stupid things :p

  11. It's hard for me to ask questions or make reco because I'm so unfamiliar with the game at this point. I'm rediscovering everything.... Like I was looking over the class changes for SI for the new expac and didn't even know what I was reading. But in a few weeks I'll be fine.

Did my first Galactic Starfighter mission today and I got smacked but it was fun, basically everything we wanted when the on rail shooting mission first came out.
