  1. That's not my intention. I only posted that to counter the "so basically you want SWG" comment.

The inference was negative, and I am contending that it may not be as negative as some folks might think.

You are certainly welcome to dislike SWG or housing, but why not simply say "I didn't like SWG" instead of telling someone else what they want? Doesn't stating what you want make more sense?

this is the wrong type of game to implement those features into tho, the only thing that is a decent request is sitting in chairs, making entire cities wouldn't work, player housing would most likely have to be done in an instanced off way (hero engine garbage) and storyteller vendors, they were strange in swg, the fact that they worked was because the game was 100% community content driven besides their ****** instances. The game was designed to allow you to have that kind of freedom, this game is designed around you experiencing their story, far too structured for the likes of housing, storyteller vendors, and player cities.

The closest thing we will ever get to housing, is customizing ships more, and imho, for this game, (and this ****** engine) that's as close as it should come

  2. Allow us to create our own content!

    How?

    SANDBOX Features!

    Examples:

Storyteller NPCs = Allow us to buy items we can place in the open world, like static vehicles, NPCs to fight, Buildings, special effects... speeder "check points" so we can build temporary race tracts... dueling arena's or pits with dangerous environmental items inside so we can host our own gladiatorial combat... the possibilities here, are endless.

Player Housing, Player Cities, and Player Capital Ships = the possibilities with this are endless. Allow us to build our own houses / cities within instanced version of the planets. Example... I go to Coruscant, I travel to a "instance taxi" and from there I jump into my house, city, etc. Instanced housing could be great for placing all sorts of things, decorations, hosting guild events, and so on.

Player Vendors: Allow players to place, in their own house, city, space station, a Player Vendor, where they this could act like a Guild Bank/GTN terminal all in one.

Interactive Environments: I know I would love to get a bunch of Jedi, go into our own instance of the Jedi Council Chambers on Tython, and RP a Council Meeting... especially if we can SIT IN CHAIRS!

Allowing the players to create content, generate their own place in the galaxy that feels like it is "theirs" will go a long way to keeping many players here, playing, and coming back for more.

Plus... you can put most of this stuff on the Cartel Market and make a fortune from it.

swg emu is that way, way to list 4 things that are literally, directly ripped from swg, please come up with original idea's

this is a themepark mmo, not a sandbox mmo. Go be king of the trackstars and stay off the forums

  3. Sorry this just simply isn't good enough.

When you say you are going to do X, and then you do Y, you have made yourself a liar. Whatever reasons you had for not keeping your word are irrelevant.

The fact that the dyes are gated behind yet another gambling mechanism designed to exploit people and the fact that anything worthwhile in the "collection" has a fairly steep real world cost to "unlock" (in addition to whatever real world cost was already paid to get the stuff in the first place) shows that your primary intent was to reach into our pockets.

If you couldn't keep your word, you should have delayed the system until it matched the hype.

Furthermore, SW:ToR has now almost caught up to STO in terms of how exploitative and invasive the monentization has become.

People like you are the reason devs never communicate fully what they are trying to do, because if they happen to not be able to do what they said they were trying to do, you jump on them, even when the reasoning for not doing it, is 100% sound.

You're probably also the type of person who whines about not having enough info about the plans for the game

to the hype point, there are limitations to what engines can do, they have already improved optimization by a lot. (to the point where they have said that the engine can hardly be called the hero engine, which is a god awful engine) Matching the hype is a complete and total joke, hype and expectations almost ALWAYS surpass reality (granted i do agree they could have done the dye system better)

Also how exactly does tor have "exploitative and invasive monetization?"

  4. I hope you're joking. I've met some serious fanboys, but you've really drank the kool-aid. If you think they won't take every opportunity to require you to spend more money, you haven't been paying attention. "award them to you" lmfao

edit: just checked your posting record and discovered you are in fact a forum troll on record defending other nonsense like the repair cost increase, so respond if you want....but I'm /ignoring you

i'm aware you have me ignored because apparently having a differing opinion (and using logic) makes you a forum troll, however. I base the they'd probably give it to us based off of. Classic looks armor sets, if you had the set, you were awarded classic set. Anyway, this "forum troll" is done lol

  5. ...grats on being the only person defending this wretched system. Revan's set doesn't make sense because it came from two different packs. No one bought that terrible pack with the sash and gloves. Now they're worth millions because of this snafu. Also, it's not a complete set. Just imagine what happens down the road when they release revan's boots and you can't copy anymore until you get it. Then month's later "hey guys, better by this pack for revan's bracers if you want make more copies." They're just setting us up to be more dependent on having to buy future packs.

I'm not defending the system, i'm arguing against your terrible examples.

Also if they did add in boots/bracers (which lets face it they probably wouldn't) they probably wouldn't be part of the collection, or they'd award them to you if you had the whole set

  6. How about just some consistency then? Nihilus mask = separate; Eradicator mask = separate; Revan's mask = have to get complete set. Huh? You promised me all my toons could wear Revan's mask, but now I have to save up for the stupid gloves and sash first? This is a cruel thing you've done.

Nihlus mask - where's the rest of the nihilus armor? that's what i thought

Eradicator Mask - separate purchase from the rest of the eradicator armor from the cartel market, not in cartel packs, different from other sets. Makes sense for it to be separate

Revan's mask - Part of an entire set that you get from the packs (or if u have 10 cartel certs and high enough rep) Makes sense for it to be part off a set, would be nice if it was not tho (but it's not like the rest of the set is really really common tho right??)

  7. The law is clear, if you don't have a physical business in a state you can't charge state taxes for that state, EA and bioware do not have any physical offices in my state, yet they are charging state taxes! I'm fairly sure this is some kind of fraud because they don't file taxes in my state.. Nice way to bleed us out for a few more $$s to keep tho huh!

    from findlaw.com:

Sales Tax on Internet Purchase Depends on Where the Buyer is Located

Generally speaking, if an online retailer maintains a physical presence in a state that charges a sales tax on most purchases, then that online retailer must charge sales tax on any items that are sold to customers within the home state. However, if the online retailer is selling an item to a customer outside of its home state, then it is not required to collect sales tax from that customer.

Here is an example. Suppose that Pete, who lives and works in California, likes to buy all of his cooking oils and spices for his restaurant over the internet. He normally orders from Restaurant Supplies Unlimited, a company that is headquartered and has its warehouse in Nevada. Because Pete orders his supplies for his restaurant from a vendor that is outside of California, Restaurant Supplies Unlimited does not have to charge Pete a sales tax.

However, now suppose that Restaurant Supplies Unlimited has opened a warehouse in California to better supply their regular customers there. Now, because Pete's order will be taken and shipped from California, he must be charged sales tax on his order.

please note the bold and underlined in the example you yourself gave, it says, "NOT REQUIRED" and "DOES NOT HAVE TO" meaning they still can if they want

  8. For those who said that people with high repair bills were lying. Here is the Dev post

NO ONE said that they were not higher.

Some people (I'm in this group) said that they don't see what the problem with the increase in cost is, it's not that big of a deal and that people canceling subs over such a non issue are dumb

Some people (again myself included in this group) said that people saying that they were paying 15k+ a death were full of ****, because well, they were

  9. So now you never wipe, and you've never complained about the cost when you (well, it doesn't happen according to you, but let's just pretend) do. How well do you believe you have made your point here?

technically he said he's never wiped in a hm fp, or he doesn't anymore. Which if he runs with a solid group, is 100% possible. HM FP's (outside of lost island and kaon bonus boss but who the hell does kaon bonus boss since they took away it dropping columi headgear even tho it's harder then the actual final boss QQ) are such a joke, most of them were designed to be run in non tionese gear, (obvious exceptions kaon and lost island) but now they hand you tionese gear significantly decreasing the difficulty. (BTW I despise that they hand you tionese gear)

And not all people complain, I never vocally back pre 1.2 said "dayum these costs are soooo high" i internally thought wow that's a bit pricey, but, whatever. I dealt with it (coincidentally part of the reason it was especially pricey was 1) tank 2) one of our healers only played for raids so i ended up paying for his repair costs as well so i was paying double 3) NM SOA SO FKING GLITCH OHMAGAWD)

  10. its to prevent you from banking BM/WH gear and to prevent you from maxing our your ranked WZ comms before the appropriate level

which is stupid, if someone puts in the effort, why not reward them?

I wasn't even aware of the cap until i leveled my most recent toon because when i leveld my very first one way back at launch, there was no cap and that was when i pvp'd a lot.

I understand not wanting people to get auto geared at 50, but, they could do something instead of cap, they could cut valor xp in half once it exceeds your level. There are much better solutions then a straight cap

  11. It's nice to see a post like this (for once) rather than the usual "I hate EA and Bioware", "the CSRs suck and are useless" and "QQ Cartel Market pay to win" posts.

the only problem i had with it (i was in on the run, we're in the same guild) is, the near week response time, i would think an item glitch / quest reward bug would have had a faster response time.

    - DON'T GET ME WRONG -

I completely understand that they are busy, but stuff like that seems like it should take higher priority

  12. True, but the point is they don't care enough to say or do anything about it.

    i covered that with

In fact if they were to have come to the forums and vocalized their opinions on the forums they would have gotten flamed to hell.

and as i said way earlier in the thread, when 1.2 hit and the repairs were lowered so much, the first thing out of my mouth at my first repair was "wow that's fking stupid" I had thought they were a little high pre 1.2 (there weren't as many dailies back then which made the repair costs even worse, if repair costs would have been as much as they were pre 1.2 with all the dalies they have now, i wouldn't have had an issue with it), i though they were WAY too low post 1.2, they should have found a happy medium, which, they never did.

  13. Eh, you know, I'm at the point I just don't care any more.

You all want EA to keep the high repair costs in so that people like me won't help anyone through flash points ever again and numerous others who somehow enjoy raiding enough to pay for it stop doing it, more power to ya.

That's what y'all did in Spring 2012 when hundreds of thousands of players dropped the game in a very short timeframe and EA panic mode switched from "let's make a great game with episodic releases!" to "let's sell gambling packs to idiots!".

Will there be enough gambling pack buyers after the raiding subscribers are gone to convince EA to keep the servers up?

Maybe we'll see. Or you will, anyway.

Nowhere, have i ever said i want to keep the high repair costs.

All i have ever continuously said, throughout the entire thread is.

I do NOT see the problem with how high they are. I do NOT see WHY it's SUCH a big deal.

I even acknowledged that it WOULD get reverted back due to the high amounts of QQ over something that shouldn't even be as big of an issue as people are making it out to be. (srsly canceling subs over repair costs is *********** stupid)

Ironically you call me an elitist at one point in time, when i'm still the one willing to run and teach people how to do fp's, while you sit there and go "i'm not going to teach people **** because then i'll wipe, i'm not going to run, i only want good people if i do run" who's got the elitist attitude again?

  14. I'm a paid sub.

The game is really awesome. It's just stupid little garbage like fixing a bug that was never a problem, but the fix is a big problem, that grinds me. So I'm telling EA they did something stupid so they fix it.

Lemme ask ya this, Sir Defender of the EA... how many times between Patch 1.2 and Patch 1.7 did you ever tell to anyone - friend, acquaintence, guildy, forum post, or bug post - that the repair costs were too damn LOW?

    Zero?

    I thought so.

So then why exactly are you defending a "fix" that fixed nothing but made the game worse for a lot of people? Do you want more people to quit playing?

just because someone doesn't say that they think repair costs are too low, or isn't adamant that they are, doesn't mean that they don't think they are.

In fact if they were to have come to the forums and vocalized their opinions on the forums they would have gotten flamed to hell.

Just because someone didn't think they were too low before, doesn't mean they automatically have an issue with the higher repair costs

  15. Well all that is terribly discouraging. Bobba and Jango Fett, IG-88 and many more notorious bounty hunters used rifles, I can see no reason why we should be denied in game the ability to equip them for aesthetics if nothing else. But thanks for the replies.

jango's primary weapon of choice was dual pistols....

  16. Many of us have asked for the option to use other weapons; Smugglers and Bounty Hunters with Rifles, Imperial Agents with Pistols. Obviously a Sniper would remain limited to Sniper Rifle and a Gunslinger would remain limited to a pair of Pistols, but for the others the option to choose would be nice and does not seem like it would be a problem.

Unfortunately we have never received a dev reply on the subject and the threads are generally moved to the Suggestion Box, buried under a pile of PvP requests and forgotten.

the original logical reason was that they didn't want people to fight over gear.

While that is still a plenty logical reason for the leveling process, since end game gear drops tokens, you could easily add it in as an option. Just not a thing that would drop normally, (you wouldn't see random rifles with aim)

Then they can get rid of the restriction, it probably won't happen, but hey, one can dream.

    *EDIT*

another thing they could introduce would be "adaptable weapons" for force users and adaptable weapons for non force users.

The only problem i see this presenting is one of the ways they seem to want people to be able to quickly identify AC's of players, atm it's very clear cut, adding in adaptable weapons would muddy this up. (still not a really legitimate reason but it's bs they could hide behind)

  17. Not a conspiracy theory genius. Anytime a company decides to go free to play, said company will nickel and dime you anyway they can. It's a slippery slope. Learn business.

No, it is a conspiracy theory, they may try to nickle and dime you to death, but that doesn't mean that they create and fix imaginary bugs to suit their needs.

Unless you have intimate knowledge of their coding, and know for a fact that this was intentional, you cannot say that was what they actually did, you just end up spewing fictitious nonsense

  18. This was nothing more than a unscrupulous attempt that BW tried to slip by people in the guise of a bug, intended or not. I have no doubt it would have ultimately affected the Cartel Shop, directly or indirectly. Sugar coat this any way you like, it was a poor business decision.

Now that people are not only threatening to leave the game, but are actually canceling their subscriptions, you will get back to us when you have more information. aka "oops, that didn't work"

I'm sure most of us do not want a free ride, but most of us also have lives, and don't sit behind the keyboard twelve hours a day.

    Regards

    conspiracy theory gogogogogogogo

  19. That's 2 crashes to desktop that regularly affect a significant proportion of the player base - what's your definition of bad setting the computer on fire? To give a feel for how bad the memory leak is according to the reliability report of every problem I have experienced with this computer this month 70% of them are SWTOR.

The known issues is thread is 70+ items long and that's just the ones they admit to I only listed those two because the requirement was to list 2 game breaking bugs - which I did both of which I have experienced and had a significant negative effect on my playing experience.

most of those bugs are hardly gamebreaking and easy to avoid. The memory leak crash is fixed by relogging every so often, again i've never even heard of that second one.

Bugs exist in every mmo, and looking through that list, a lot of them aren't even bad.
