  1. I took a year break after the xpac due to the Conquest changes. Came back and checked out the changes made since I left. I liked them. Apparently some of us were having fun . Bad Tom.

Grinding is Fun and Santa Claus comes in July.

  2. 2X XP doesn't matter one bit to me. Why? I plan on leveling new ALTS with 7.0, to check out the old stories with new classes.. I'm not sure why anyone would want to be locked in before then but whatever. :D

That sounds like a good idea. I think I will get 8 more slots before 7.0.

  3. There's no point or benefit in switching back to it.

What is something that gearing would allow for that couldn't possibly be done in some other way? For instance, If Bioware built a Combat Profficienies menu/panel just for companions where you could tweak them with dropdowns, choices, etc, what benefit would gearing have over that?

So why keep talking about it, defending it, or advocating for it?

I'm not seeing the benefit for companion gear when there are better ways to handle getting the things people want from companion gear into the game.

The same reason you are. I am pretty sure I am allowed my opinion same as you. You don't like it simple. I will show you.

  4. Not having gear doesn't mean companions can't have stats tied to them.

Our characters have bonuses/stats applied to them through Datacrons, Companion Affinity, Combat Proficiencies, etc, and none of those things involve gear. They're all in menus.

If you or anyone wants stats or a greater degree of control over companions that's the better way to handle it. Bringing back gear basically offers no advantages that couldn't already be applied to them through other means.

You reminded me of something else that I don't think I've seen anyone mention yet which is inventory space. Not having to deal with gear for comps allowed people to free up inventory space.

The boats already sailed on it. They won't switch back no matter what some want. So no use beating a dead horse. I been at it since the Beta and I enjoyed my comps with good gear. Funny thing is D3 now has gearing for follower like back in the D2 days and GW1 had the best companions and their gear was just for show.

  5. That depended on the class you played. If you played a Trooper for instance you could use hand me downs for your comps because they used aim as well (all of them). If you were a different class you couldn't necessarily do that. Each companion needed different stats for the other classes.. Most classes had companions that used all of the stats. One comp was strength based, another willpower, another cunning, and another was Aim. Gearing up companions on some classes was nothing short of a a pain to deal with.

Good riddance to gearing out companions. If BW wanted an outfit designer for them I'm fine with that, but I'm never going back to having to use stat gear on comps.

I understand that. You could buy gear also. Like their were some nice weapons at Tat ..get ear pieces at Hoth..Belsavis and Voss had some nice gear.

  6. Yes to more companion interactions and, of course, outfit tabs.

Another thing I would also love is if BW returned some of the individuality that companions had prior to 4.0. Comps used to have individual moves and although some of that has been retained to a degree, Tharan using Holiday for example, others have been lost. Nadia lost Wild Energy and Force Eruption and Xalek used to be ranged and focused on using lightning, for example. I would love it if when an OC comp was in their native stance they would use some of their old animations and abilities. Obviously some allowances would need to be made. Guss, for example, could not use their old animations and abilities set since they completed changed in Fallen Empire. We know that unique ability animations are possible, look at Arcann and Shae, so I would love it if our OC comps got some of that restored to them.

But I definitely do not want to have to bother with their gear stats. Comp gearing should stay gone forever.

What I am talking about gearing them with stats I thought it was great. As far as choice of Healer/Tank or DPS I think that should be kept. It is not like it is going to change anyways. Doesn't change the fact I think they were much better during the beginning of this game. With the exception of being able to switch to H/T/Dps. That is a good thing.

  7. Here is the problem, it mattered in the old system. You had to gear your companion because they were useless without gear. In current system you can gear your companion and the people that don't want to don't have too. Old system only benefited one group. Current system benefits both groups.

I played under the old system and I didn't think it was that hard. You could use gear from quest or hand me downs. Same could apply now.

  8. I can't play the way I want. It's that simple.

I resubbed last week. Already cancelled my sub. Game is total and complete garbage as far as I'm concerned.

The story lasted like two days and was meh beyond belief. I could write a more interesting story on toilet paper while on the commode. I did get some okay gear drops from the story, but now the story's over so...

All I do, all I've ever really done, is PvP and craft in between PvP pops. The gear drops in PvP are beyond terrible and are clearly bugged. Still dropping T1 green trash when I've already got some gold and purple items. In a game with gear progression, where gear matters at endgame, I'm done with that.

Sorry, but I have zero interest, actually less than zero, in running 100 Hammer Station FPs to get my gear. I mean, I ran Hammer Station the first time something like 7+ years ago. Why in the world would I want to run it now? Please tell me. God bless the PvEers who will grind anything and everything monotonous until there's no water left in the rock...the only ones keeping this game alive.

There is also no crafting alternative which did exist in the past. Like I said, I used to craft in between PvP pops. I could use crafting to give Alts a cushion of sorts. Now I have no idea what I need to craft, how to get materials, how to get schematics, or even what's available for me to craft. That segment of the game has been turned into a complete disaster, and unnecessarily so. Even the proposed changes coming in what...a month?...don't look like they will help much.

Wanted to come back to the game. Wanted to love this game from the start...but you guys kept, and keep, blowing it at every turn.

    Good luck

I know what you mean. I canceled mine also. Crafting is a big thing with me. I like crafting for my chrs as they level. That and raising Conquest. It is their game they can do what they want. They made their choice and so I made mine. I been playing since Beta with breaks here and there. What they said about play your own way reminds me of ME 3 and what was put out by them. A bunch of BS. Oh well. Just a note: I promise my gear to the the blue hair engineer.

  9. I wish repair costs hadn't gone up so much.

I know for ppl spamming Hammer MM they don't have to worry about it, but for those of us who actually want to run challenging content, costs are outrageous.

    17.5K for every wipe.

The MM fights for advanced flashpoints are very tough due to boss health. They are grueling slogs that don't work the way they used to anymore (perhaps it's what the devs intended, however). There's no more taking down the last boss at Umbara by just burning through the 15% phase. There's no way you can burn fast enough anymore.

That is how it was at the beginning when Ops started. Spendy. I don't do ops but that is way to much. Let people have fun. Shoot it is a game.

  10. just going to point a quick misconception.... rpg doesnt mean solo game. its a genre based on rng drops, stat menus and heavy graphics overlaying simplistic repetitive design. (if you dont believe the last part, 2 examples among thousands... IO merc mag shot is the exact animation of the gunslinger quickdraw, ex 2: blade rush on sentiel combat is the same animation of mara vicious slash, and vica versa for carnage massacre and sentiel slash.

No it doesn't. It means role playing game. It doesn't mean Solo or Group. Wow is a MMO and people play it solo. They may group for a Raid same as people do for Ops.

  11. It’s not about that there are solo players I have nothing against them. It is what it is, but why play an mmo if you’re in it for the sp experience and get upset when a multiplayer game pushes you be more socially interactive beyond the chat box? Maybe that part went over some heads. The discouraging part comes from trying to form something and no one wants to help or support not the fact that they solo play. The one thing this game has going for it is the story because it’s cinematic and choice driven, but it is it’s one of its greatest downfall because of you play another mmo without such a great story element there tends to be more activity among players. SWTOR is my favorite and only legally active SW mmo right now and I try to stick to one at a time, but I understand that it’s an mmo before anything else. Something others seem to forget.

Because we can. I didn't buy SWTOR because it was a MMO but because it was a RPG. I bought it despite it being a MMO. I not even a Star Wars fan as far as the movies go. Still I liked K1 and K2. That is why I bought it. As already been pointed out the options are there to play the way you want to. So what does it matter how someone else plays.

As far as money spend for solo's well their money is as good as anyone else's. So why shouldn't they get content.

This is a general statement. You can contact my reps Larry, Darryl, and Darryl if you disagree. They are residing south of Nashkel. You might even get a electronic autograph..)

  12. I guess Tor wants to compete with Wow. If you are running around in top gear of course it isn't as difficult. Frell same as it always has been since Beta. Just some haven't grasped the fact good gear and experience with the game makes easy. It is Tors game so up to them. They will be the ones who lose or win by their actions.
  13. I think, at least for me, the first thing I need answered is this question...

Will I need 20 purple mats that I can ONLY get from completing conquest on my characters to craft a GREEN 270 item?

Will I ALSO need 20 purple mats that I can ONLY get from MM Flashpoints and the various levels of operations to craft that same GREEN 270 item.

If these requirements are just "placeholders" for PTS so we can't see what they'll REALLY cost on live, in an effort to prevent people from saving up....well...let us know that.

    I think that's dumb...but it isn't impossible.

if you're REALLY going to keep those 40 rare mats in the mix for GREEN 270 items....

    Crafting is dead with 6.0

That sums it up nicely. You will drive some players away. I don't know how many or even it really matters to you. It seems like your going out of your way to get rid of people. There is some good QOL but not worth dealing with the rest of what you might implement. It is PTS so it isn't the final product but I've seen what has happened in the past. It is your game so it is up to you.

  14. TBH this is not going to work for some people. Unless they get DeWoWafide I can't see how this will work. The crafting is ridiculous as is the Jawa junk. It should go back to the old way. Not by level like some suggested.

This 20 purples for green? Serious. If the object is to drive some people off this will work.

  15. Don't blame the casuals or roleplayers. What happened at the beginning of the game when we lost quite a few people that were here when the content was harder. Yes, I do know what I am talking about, the content for our stories was harder and yet people still left. So you see as I always have said it depends on the people you talk to .

Some of the bugs and such drove people away also. Play was like running in quicksand. Key word /stuck also beware of pink dogs.

  16. you should read what I wrote better.

You're assuming I want that, while I clear stated that sm, fp, open world, is, and should stay/always will be, accesible to ALL players.... and that I want HM - and NIM to be harder (depending on skill, average for HM, best for NiM)

    Please... read.

You on the other hand, want the game dead easy, and just want people to take off gear to make things harder.

Downside is, even if I take all gear off, nothing is hard. due to bolster, all SM raids can be done naked, with a green weapon, same for all leveling, and veteran flashpoints (master in a group probably too) /thanks bolster.

You're the one trying to enforce YOUR will on others, while blaming me to do so. GG.

He is talking about changing the level of gear. Easy to do to make it tougher. So people can do these without gear huh. I anxiously wait for the video.

  17. BW relying on casuals already ruined this game.

Do you know why this game is on the brink of collapse? Because of you casuals. New people come, try it and refuse to continue because it's too easy.

Your lvl 15 companions actually play your content for you, not you.

You can solo MM FPs using only basic attack if you have healing companion.

    This is simply ridiculous.

The current state of this game with 5 servers 95% of population on which are RPers is a perfect example why developers shall NEVER listen to casuals.

I like to see your stats proving that. That cause I think it is so it must it must be so doesn't work.

  18. This is a VERY VERY good idea and i really like it a lot!!!! IT MAKES MORE SENSE for people who DO STILL want to "play it their way" -- wasnt that the recent slogan that the entire SWTOR DEV team adopted, right before 6.0 got underway in development???? "Play the game YOUR way"??? Hmmmm!!!!

MORE MANUAL CONTROL please! Make SWTOR more stick-shift and less automatic! :)

On SOR they had it right. When it came time to pick a item for comp. You were allow to chose. Not sure why they don't use it with the rest of reward system.
