  1. There's great Sentinels who have an uncanny mastery for using our crappy UI, intrinsically knowing how much focus they have without having to take their eyes off the action, exactly when their 3-4 DPS cooldowns are coming off and budgeting focus for them. Their first impulse when attacked is knowing which of our 4 defensive cooldowns to use. They know when to Zen and when to Transcendence. They know when to burst their consumables at the absolutely best time. And for the life of me, I don't even know why I put points into Mind Sear, as I don't even know when it procs and most of the time, I forget. The ones that roll in well-balanced premade groups that they are the main assist for. These are the Sentinels that succeed, that think pulling 300k in a Warzone is a no-brainer.

This, THIS, AND A THOUSAND TIMES THIS!

This is exactly what I try to explain to better geared Sents on my server that do not perform as well as me. I'm stealing this, thank you Sir.

  2. full champion pvp gear, biochem might stim. Then you know when your going to sweep, pop relic/adrenal for 1, then pop your 15% dmg buff (inspiration its called right?) for your 2nd sweep

That's a lot of things that need to be off CD. Especially the 15% damage buff.

It's possible, but not feasible (atleast not most of the time).

imo if a spec requires stims/buffs/relics/gear to be bursty, the spec itself is not really bursty.

  3. Yah well...nice pocket healz.

On my server, there's barely any healers let alone finding a pocket healer. I'm sure if I had one I'd reach 500K as well. Without one I can reach 400k on, win, and still be doing well on objective points (on avg 300k+ is definitely normal while focusing on objective points).

Oh how I wish I had a pocket healer =/

  4. Well from our server, the best Sentinel consistently pushes out 300k and does the objectives (i.e doesn't tunnel vision for damage). However he does not have a pocket healer (he uses his CDs amazingly and really doesn't need one).

That's against geared 50s. Someone consistently hitting over 500k (against geared 50s) is Focus specced and getting really lucky that all the Imps are clustering together throughout the entire game as well as having a pocket healer.

Also dont worry about your damage meter with a class that isn't working properly yet, worry more about objective score.

    ^this

  5. I find focus interesting in that force exhaustion is not melee, so the slow is great, you get your party a nearly full time defensive buff (it is bugged it seams as sometimes you have 20 centering instead of 10 at the end of transcendence, or it just that I manage 10 centering in the 10 seconds???).

Force sweep with criticals is good. The only problem in PVP is like all melee class, you do not have enough ranged capacities against those who bumps or have 3stuns or stealth to run.

That is main point, as a sentinel you do not have anything to run/escape a dire situation, whereas stealth class or range class (with bumps) gets enough of a head start to escape you (if they play well and if you needed the jump to reach them the first time).

Transcendence is not bugged, it's working as intended (there was a thread where they sent a ticket in and they said it was working as intended). For each person that you applied the buff to you get 10 centering back, thus 10 for yourself, and 2 others would be 30 centering.

  6. All i can tell you about PVP is sents rip my Shadow a new ***. Granted the raid buffs arent as important during unorganized pvp, but you still have a healing debuff, great closers, interrupts for days and (if combat) some crazy burst, though retardedly gear dependant).

Try combat, find a sage/inquis and watch it splat...... If organized PVP is your focus, you are prolly second to infil shadow at harassment. Find a pocket healer ;)

Unfortunately all the healers on my forsaken server are DPS spec to get more medals. -_-

What I've taken away from this is the following:

    1) Interrupts are amazing for PVP and PVE, and we are one of the best classes at it

    2) We have good survivability with our CDs

    3) Our Raid buffs are important and a huge boost.

    4) We can bring a level of maneuverability to the group that no other class can.

  7. Now i may have assumed you were of the mindset of this guy.

If you're seriously asking the question...... it's been answered. Great dps (and you are prolly second to maybe 1 or 2 classes), great maneuverability (requirement for most Ops), awesome survivability (in an Op environment) and the most prolific buffs in a game where every second of dps is a make or break moment for the raid.

Beautiful answer and what I wanted, and no I am definitely not in the mindset of that guy lol.

  8. I don't think you read my posts with the tone I had in mind while writing them, that's understandable.

I most certainly agree with *some* of the things pointed out my posters as to what Sentinels can bring to the table and for that I am grateful and have learned. I also am not trying to refute with only "stretching it a bit", I honestly have my own first hand experiences (just as valuable as yours).

I've try to be open minded as much as I can be so as to not let knowledge slip past me.

Also I think you're focusing more on PVE raiding content, while I had more PVP content in mind (I PVP far more than PVE). Maybe that's got something to do with our difference in opinions.

It is heartening to hear an experienced raider say they'd still bring Sentinels to their raids if a Tank still did more DPS (showing that Sents bring something quite useful to raids).

So thank you for your input, it's well received.

  9. Worst statement in this thread. I don't even know how to counter that....

Guess what no other class can dps and heal or dps and tank. They do one or the other. In short your saying because your horribly twisted view of what you perceive endgame to be isn't met it should be changed to give sents an advantage for no reason? Sorry because you dont have a tank or heal spec? Did you know this when you rolled the class?

You don't understand what I'm saying, and you're a very rude person.

What I mean is, a class that can both DPS or respec to Heal/Tank.

Also, I'm not saying it should be changed. I'm simply seeking information. You don't need to be an *** about it.

We don't accept or tolerate forums trolls, chat champions or downright douchebags (especially within the guild). We will never penalize anyone for asking a question but we will if you don't. .

    ^ Look familiar?

  10. So much dumb in this thread..... Sentinels are one of the highest dps classes .

They are ONE of the highest. I'm wondering why we aren't without a doubt the highest since we're a DPS only class (same goes for other DPS only classes). It seems to me that the other classes that can tank/heal as well as DPS should bring more utility while we should just dominate the DPS. But in reality, we don't dominate DPS.

I understand the concept of every DPS spec'd class doing roughly the same, but then it leads back to what do we bring to the table? It seems that those who posted the benefits to Sent are making a bit of a stretch. Sure, we have a very nice interrupt that doesn't work on every boss ability and can only be applied to one person every 6 seconds -shrug-. It's a great interrupt, but doesn't just seem like enough. People say we can bring some good buffs, while that is true it still is very lackluster.

  11. Once again, I'm not saying Sentinels are nerfed or that they can't top DPS charts while doing objectives. I'm saying it'd be nice for pure DPS classes to bring something very beneficial to the table.

Some posters have pointed out things here that I agree with (interrupts, some buffs).

I just feel that the class is very lackluster as a whole. It's my personal opinion and I totally accept that :)

  12.

Now, if you're not traited Watchman, you're not bringing half of that. Yeah, if Watchman is too much for you, you're bringing more with another spec than you would fumbling through Watchman, but that's not a flaw of the class. More risk = more reward.

. If you think that the dots are ineffective in PvP, you aren't paying attention or have never traited Watchman for PvP.

I'm not saying we're ineffective in PvP, I'm saying we don't pack a punch and aren't a real benefit.

Also, watchman is not difficult to play. Honestly, it's not that bad of a rotation and the reactiveness required in PvP with our class isn't too bad either.

To all the posts that are going to say "OP you're just bad, aren't playing Watchman right" I'm gonna throw that out. I've put in the time and effort and I just don't think it's worth it really.

I personally don't have fun with a DoT spec, and AoE specs are well...AoE lol. I'd like a nice bursty spec but no one told me the DPS class Sentinel was not like that (since combat is such lackluster).

We can totally 1v1 classes and win, this I do not doubt (as Watchman).

You also made some good points about interrupts, which I wholeheartedly agree with, that's definitely one of the strong points of Watchman. However, the Healing debuff is only 20%, that's really not that much.
