  1. I once mentioned making Jaesa light side romance-able to Neil Pollner (the SW writer) and his response was "Don't start". He really wanted her to have only a dark side romance and for the light side to keep true to her jedi training. That is how he wrote the story. Good news is that he is no longer on the SWTOR team (he writes for Mass Effect now). So maybe the writer that took over his duties will find it in their heart to change the romance options.

  2. Thing is the UI management of this game stinks. UI frames eats FPS like candies.

Each chat bubble is a new UI frame and the game hates having too many of them around, especially poping up randmonly and fast. Funny it was the tecchie guy that showed it to the devs.

As long as they won't improve their UI code we won't have chat bubbles.

Hope you don't like UI mods too because if they don't fix "chat bubbles" you won't have UI mods either.

If they are using HeroEngine's GUIControl class they might be boxed in with what they can tweek for performance.

  3. Haha, Joveth pretty much confirmed what you are saying misterMe in the below thread. PVP and PVE servers get special attention but RP just had an RP slapped on the end of the server name and that is it.

"The game does impose different rules on players on PvE and PvP servers, but there are currently no rules enforced for RP players – the designation is there to indicate to players who prefer to roleplay that a server is a good choice for them."

  4. I asked about this the other day on Twitter and James pointed me to this SWTOR Q&A.

Unfortuantely, when they say it is "On the list" that just means it is a feature request. I would be a lot more interested in what priority they assigned to it. The fact that they mentioned that their attempt to implement it in beta caused performance issues tells me that the fix would touch a lot of code and likely is not trival. My gut feeling, as a developer myself, is that the risk probably outweighs the benefit and we are unlikely to see it until they overhaul the HeroEngine. Of course that is just an opinion that I hope is wrong.
