  1. A software company not able to fix issues in a code? Only time I ever saw something like this was, when people tried to dive into code they didn't write themselves. If the above is legit, Bioware probably bought this game and didn't code it themselves.

Yeah.. that could explain those 100 million dollars...

  2. So, after a nice read of the new Ilum article from IGN today, I discovered that Ilum NEVER has worked as intended and, today, it continues being a complete fail. Extracted from the article, words from Gabe Amatangelo, Lead PvP, Flashpoints and Operations Designer:

In beta builds we had the objectives locking for several minutes after being captured and players receiving credit for both capturing and actively defending.

Every time the build went to live beta servers the timers would get stuck after a day or two of gameplay. We have not been able to resolve the root cause of that issue yet. So we had to remove the timers just before launch, and unfortunately we did not have time to make further changes to the zone.

I recommend all of you to read this excellent article describing the incredibly chaos and epic fail of this planet:

    http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/121/1219007p1.html

Just wanted to share this with all of you.

    Kind regards.

  3. rather here them say that they are working on something like this though instead of old out-dated warzones. This kind of PVP builds server community and feels alive. I don't want another same-faction warzone. I want large scale PVP that matters. :(.

You won't find what you are looking for in SWTOR, never.

  4. Ey!

Just wanted to create a list of the open PvP design failures that BioWare has made and that is causing LOTS of ppl to quit this game. Here it is:

    • ENTIRE ILUM

    End of the list.

So I suggest you to destroy Ilum (including all its open PvP system) with the Death Star and start developing a new non-instantiated open PvP planet with objectives, relics, siege weapons, etc.

  5. Ok here goes:

I love huttball, i think it is the most dynamic Warzone in any MMO ive ever played, and ive pretty much played em all.

I love the improvement on WoW type combat. I love the new interupt system, i love the resolve bar mechanic (needs to be tweaked).

I love the speed of the game in regards to how HP bars fluctuate.

I love the class balance as it the best in any new MMO ive ever played.

I love how certain people dont understand how new mechanics work and wont let go off the old. Makes it really fun to see a lot of you saying CC is too much, and OMG put snares to fill resolve cuz i cant move.

    I love the I.P.

I love the improvements they have made, look at how ability lag has just gone away.

And i love your tears, please dont leave, stay and QQ.

Wait wait wait... let me check the calendar... No, it is not April fools day...

Really, are you *********** kidding me?

  6. Why not its fun, nice warzones and easy way to upgrade your gear if you love doing warzones...

Why everything has to be bad actually? If you are not satisfied why you are here and why you are still paying for SWTOR ?

I'm still playing SWTOR because I did a mistake, I bought a 60 days game card with the game.

After reading some post I only can say... my friend was right! 2 months ago a friend told me...

"This game will fail, the PvP will cause most players to quit the game and in 2 moths it will be only played by fanboys"

  7. No gear progression no heals.....LOL yea thats pvp. I played the first one i wont be playing GW2.

Oh and dont tell me what i want again, I'll decide what i want in a game and i will vote with my wallet.

Explain us why do you prefer SWTOR's PVP please.

  8. ... I have just read an article about the PvP GW2 will offer and it has no sense to keep on complaining about the PVP of SWTOR, which is in my opinion the worst PvP EVER.

BioWare, you had and incredibly opportunity to make something big, to became a reference game. You had one of the bests IP to develop a MMO, you had a great team and you had enough money (I have read you spent more than 100 million dollars...) but you have FAILED. YES, read it YOU HAVE FAILED, TOTALLY.

It does not matter the time or money you spent now to improve the PvP, it is late and you won't do anything better than GW2 will do.

My current status is: Waiting on GW2.

  9. Exploiting bugs with the intention to ruin the game for others or gain an unfair advantage is bannable.

It is, but first you need to probe I did it.

For all the rest, I will return Daoc (not WoW) as soon as my subscription time expires. Meanwhile I will keep on posting my frustration with this game, specially with the PVP.

  10. I encourage everyone to report anyone who does this intentionally in-game.

It is not my fault, it is yours. First for releasing the game with SO MANY bugs that breaks the game experience. Second, to explain how to reproduce it.

  11. Hi everyone! The resolution for this issue is now up in our public test server:

    • Fixed an issue causing players to not receive Warzone Win mission credit upon winning a Warzone match when the first player to enter the zone leaves the zone before the match concludes.

As a reminder, because development is ongoing during testing, it should be noted that all changes and updates listed in the patch notes should be considered incomplete and are subject to change or removal before release to the live servers.

If this fix is successful, it will be implemented when 1.1.3 goes live.

Thanks again for your continued patience!

Thank you for the explanation. Now I will enter to a warzone in first place and then leave it till the 1.1.3 patch goes live, just for fun.

  12. I started the thread at 2:52 PM.

    Dev responded at 5:35 PM.

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=2607618#edit2607618

    5:35 - 2:52 = 2 hrs 43 minutes to respond.

Next day, 7:45, they announce an incoming fix.

Elapsed time: 1 day, 4 hours 53 minutes

Since you seem to have no knowledge of software development, and I have 26 years of experience, let me tell you that this was .... what's the word I'm looking for here ....

    fast.

I'm a software engineer since finished my studies and work developing software. When we develop a product or a patch for a product we have a Quality team that tests the product or performs the corresponding intensive test or sanity checks (depending on the release type) to verify the product can go live without problems.

We also have a bug and change request tracker to store the issues sorted by severity (1 is the worst severity). If we receive a rating 1 bug, I have to stop doing whatever I was doing and fix the patch asap, because it means it is a bug stopper that is avoiding the clients to keep on working with our software.

Meanwhile, another member of my team tries to look for a workaround for the client/clients that reported the issue. A rating 1 bug must be triagged, investigated and fixed within the next 8 hours and, believe me, we do it, and our products are very complex software applications.

Maybe you have 26 years of experience developing software, but you don't have any idea at all of how to deploy and maintain it.

Where is the Quality team of BioWare? Ahh I see, they don't have, they use their OWN CLIENTS to test the patches in the test server so they can save money. For that reason bugs like this one (which under my understanding was critic) go live. But eh, they fixed it in 30 hours and they have to make a maintenance of 4 hours to implement the fix that surely will break another thing while 1,7 million of clients are paying a subscription of 13 EUR to play it.

No, this is no the way.

So you can believe me, IT WAS NOT FAST AT ALL.

  13. Thank you for the update Joveth. I really appreciate the fast response on this issue.

    Fast? Let me laugh...

1 or 2 hors after receiving the error report could be fast. 4 hours can be acceptable. After 8 hours you start wondering *** they are doing. 24 hours later is something like... "We want to lose subscribers faster than a lightsaber switches on". BUT 30 hours after receiving the problem, when there were more than 100 threads in the forums talking about the same issue, is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. (Don't forget you are paying to play and they are earning more than 15 million dollars every month just with the subscriptions)

WHERE THE HELL DO YOU SEE THE FAST ANSWER HERE? CAUSE I DON'T SEE IT ANYWHERE.

Very bad BioWare, very bad, but you will learn from your errors as soon as GW2 is out.

  14. Hi everyone,

I wanted to give you all a quick update. The dev team has been investigating the cause of this issue and they're closer to figuring out a solution. As mentioned before, we'll keep you updated with any new developments. Thanks again for your patience on this.

    Patience...

    Patience...

    Patience...

    Patience...

I don't have more PATIENCE, I'm ENRAGED, gonna quit this game just when I submit this post.
