And be safe in the knowledge that it has absolutely nothing to do with consolidating the existing population, after hundreds of thousands of players left due to the game's many, many problems.

Random fact of the day: Space invaders was good by accident. Know how the aliens speed up as you kill them? That's not actually by design. The frame rate is getting faster. Seriously. One of the main things that made the game work so well was actually just lag.

Daniel: Ranked Warzones is on track for 1.3. All the heavy lifting (ratings, group persistence exiting warzones, etc) is done and right now we are working through some emergent conflicts with Group Finder and the process of queuing for multiple activities at once with multiple temporary groups.
There is a lot of communication in this update. Nice job Bioware.
It was on track for 1.2 until mere hours before deployment. Quite frankly, I can't believe a single word that comes out of the BW media machine anymore. And that is such a shame.
Having said that, I hope it does come out for all the people still playing the game.

Well, unlike you, I can commit to something. Have fun with either children in WoW, free and boring stuff in D3, Korean grindfest Tera, or nothing new GW2.

And nothing new in GW2? Lol! I saw more innovation over a 6 hour stress test in GW2 than I have during my entire time in TOR. Presently, TOR is effectively a bioware game sticky taped onto an inferior version of WoW. Let's be honest, without it's IP (which they've butchered) who'd still be playing?
To the OP: I stopped playing a while back. My sub is still running, but what's the point. There's no-one left to play with..
Sincere good luck to all those sticking with it. I genuinely hope it gets better for you all.

I cant help wondering if when the OP tries a new restraunt and they screw up his order 5 times in a row, if he sits there saying,
"Thats ok, they are new and learning, no reason for me to expect to get what I ordered and will pay for"
Baffles me these "their new, accept the mistakes" attitude. MMORPGs been around for 21 years, there is NO REASON for most of these mistakes made.
Bugs dont bother me personally and I rarely complaint about them, I just send feedback to who ever when I find one and move on.
But the design mistakes that were more then predictable, those bother me to no end and

NO, you dont get a free pass because its your first MMORPG (which again its really not as they had Mythic with them for the entire journey so they had kowledge from DAoC and Warhammer games to draw from.
Why is it so bad to expect top level production from a gaming company? You demand it from restraunts, you demand it from mechanics, you demand it from everyone else in your lives. But come to a game and
"ahhhh well, its ok you didnt get it right the first time, heres my money anyways, take your time, ill wait"

A fine arguement, but expect to be called 'entitled' at some point by a portion of your fellow gamers. Bioware is not just a service provider after all, it's our friend.

Are the rumors true? Has swtor already become just another mmo doomed to a slow death? I'm really concerced about this, looking forward to your answers.
Truth is, no-one knows what the future holds. It's all guess work, feelings and emotions at this point.
My advice: Wait to see what 1.3 brings in and what happens with character transfers and server consolidation.
Also, It's worth asking yourself why you stopped playing in the first place and whether the game has improved enough to better fit your requirements.

SWTOR would not work as a free to play game, the cash shop would make virtually nothing as people would just use the game for what it actually is quite good at.. A solo rpg

No the only people who like f2p games are those too cheap to fork out $15 a month. Free to play games suck. You end up spending more money on purchases than the $15 if u want a quality experience and then thee is also the fact that the lack of quality and maintenance of f2p games. Subscriptions models are the best because the worlds are maintained and you get items based on how often/well you play not how much you pay in rl cash.

To the OP, I believe that F2P is sadly not going to be a decent option since a game needs to built with that in mind from the start. Because of this, games that go from subs to F2P often feel stiffled and limited.
I may be wrong of course, but I can't honestly see how they could monetise the game without taking away things that we have already and charging for them seperately (like some of the 8 character slots, inventory, races and or classes).

DE: Just Story. Pick-up groups for Hard Mode would be more frustration than anything else.

I have been a Bioware critic in the forums with regard to many issues. But, I will not criticize their generosity. The month players have received is really nice. I don't want a free to play game or descend the slippery slope in setting any free tomplay expectations.
The decision to give out a free month was purely a business one. You're desperately fooling yourself to think otherwise.
Technically you pay for an account. You can start a new toon on Fatman-yes there are costs with this but ultimately you got access to the game and that is what you paid for.Read your EULA
Are we that desperate a community that we need to start pointing out legal small print in answer to an ethical question?

Shoutd BW offer a free month to current and prior subscribers after 1.3 to help bring players back who left? yes. LFG finder is one of the most requested features people have wanted since launch and sure it would bring alot of players back into the game.

Really, what is your problem? The OP can't play an mmo, due to the fact that there are no players on his server. It's not his fault that this is the case. He hasn't personally driven out the players from the server. He hasn't had any input into the game design or management.
So, please explain to me: How does his request for advice on whether to ask for extra time (until BW fixes their issues) qualify as 'entitled' behaviour?
I feel that this kind of attitude you're showing your fellow player has driven away as many players as Bioware's mis-management of the game.

I'm amazed and yet not surprised at all by the childish people attacking others that are not happy on dead servers. I'm on a light server. (Extra light in th past 8 weeks or so). Rerolling is not an option. I have put a stupid amount of time into all my alts and my main.
I am a huge SW fan! That's why I'm here. I have done nearly everything there is to do on my lvl 50 main. The promise that you will never hear the same dialogue twice is a load of crap! I have 7 alts. I have tried every class Imp/Pub to lvl 20-27 currently. Legacy lvl 22 as of last night. I am subbed on a 6 month plan. If the side missions were different for each class (with dialogue that I have not heard 4 times each side imp/pub) I would be a lot better. I absolutely hate repeating the same basic story 4 times x 2 with minor differences from class to class.
So co-op group play is all I really have left to entertain myself with. (PVP bores me, I'm on a PVE server) So I cannot wait for the free transfers. As long as there are no BS queing just to log in and play. Or any lag. I joined a light server on launch day to avoid all that. And it has worked out. But people are leaving my server in droves! It's a ghost town. On any given planet I'm lucky to see 2-3 people. (Imp/Pub side). The fleet maybe 8 or less for a short time. It's really getting worse daily.
I know other MMo's have recently released. And that doesn't help. But server transfers and a lot more content have to come much sooner than later for this game to survive before it's too late. I want this game to succeed. But I'm bored as hell. And having no one to keep my mind occupied with in groups to break the monotony just makes it worse. Why would I continue to sub if this is the case? I'm sure I will be attacked for this post like many others have been. I could not care less waht those people have to say.
It's a forum. 99% of the time people come here to complain about what needs fixed. Gee what a concept! Get used to it. If you're happy with things. Then it must be nice to be so easily satisfied. I wish I could be. But if I'm paying. I need to be entertained for that hard earned money I'm shelling out. I work for it. Unlike some people that have their mommies pay their bills it seems.
I agree totally. The "I'm OK, F you" attitude is bad enough, but then telling other players that they are in some way wrong or foolish to not be enjoying the game is truely repulsive behaviour.
All I can say to the guys out there that desperately wanted this game to be a success, and tried contructive criticism to put their views across: don't take it to heart. The zealots are as most likely as disappointed with the game as the rest of us, but they can't or won't admitt it to themselves. And for every "so unsub" or "don't let the door hit you on the way out" remark, their game world becomes just that little bit more barren and lacklustre.

As an old fart, Star Wars had a very special place in my heart.
However, with the terrible prequels and a slew of craptastic media that's been released since, I feel I've finally fallen out of love with all that is Star Wars.
