  1. Hello guys! i just wanna share my experience of the game after a month playing.

At the beginning i was loving the game, so after a few days i sub for a month so i could have the full experience. The story, the cafting, the companions system all awsome (I have not try all content yet, my focus is on the story).

The problem started when i outlevel the area, means level sync. After that the game became stale. My Jedi knight is lv 80 with a basic gear lv 80, yet i could not enjoy it because 95% of the time i played i was sync, every level feel and play the same and in some cases worst because lower gear give you better stats than higher level gear.

Because of the leveling sync i can't enjoy the game and that is the reason i cancel my sub. I have 5 days left and it saddens me because the rest was awsome, yet progression is a game breaking point for me.

I wish you the best to all!!!

  2. Because we had problems in the past when groups were killing certain world bosses, and someone would come along, and one shot the world bosses and mess it up for the group doing it.

While shared tagging is nice for some things, it doesn't always work the way it should, and therefore one shooting these world bosses is not fair to those that have taken the time to get a group together to kill the world boss to have someone come along and kill the world boss, therefore making the group wait again for the world boss.

Then they should use Final Fantasy xiv system for that. Those are call events and if you want to participate and you are "out" of level then you press a button to sync you. Such button shows when you are near an event. If you don't sync you can't attack the mobs on the event.

  3. I'm not even going through a quarter of one rotation on a low planet to kill a mob at level, and not even half a rotation down-leveled.

If by characterizing yourself as "weak" while level shifted you mean that you cannot maintain a non-stop one-shot slaughterfest on a planet that's 40 levels below you, you might actually have to hit more than one button to kill a mob.

And whats is wrong to one shot an enemy?? That is why you level and get better gear. Leveling is dinamyc, level sync makes things static = boring

  4. One solution some players have talked about is scaling all planets to 80, and then bolstering low level players to level 80. It's the same thing they do in flashpoints. It seems like it could work for planets as well. The downside is that you would never feel like a low-level character doing low damage (20, 50, 100 damage a hit). Since you would be bolstered, your abilities would be doing 10-20,000 even at level 1. The upside would be you would never have any caps on your stats.

So.. what is the point of levels??? Remove the level system and the stat system if you want that everything been static.

  5. I just wanted to get this post highlighted on the dev tracker for anyone that runs into this issue.

I just found my first datacron on Voss. i clicked on it but all datacron on Voss in my legacy are still lock. I already log on all my characters but still unlock. I am doing something wrong? i have only 3 weeks on the game

  6. Hey Community!

    Increasing the Power Ceiling

With 7.1 we’ll be implementing our first power increase, allowing players to obtain even stronger gear. Here are the new maximum item ratings players can obtain:

    • Noble Decurion Gear – 330 (up from 326)
    • Elite Decurion Gear – 330 (up from 324)
    • Supreme Decurion Gear – 330 (up from 326)
    • Tionese Gear – 330 (up from 322)
    • Columi Gear – 330 (up from 326)
    • Thyrsian Gear – 328 (up from 326)
    • Legendary Implants – 334 (up from 330)

Will you fix the level sync because else that is just pointless?. It will make you weaker in lower level areas. The re is no sence of progression so far. Bigger numbers in your gear means weaker toon on LOWER LEVELS!!!

  7. Hi GoldenApolo,

To help us better understand your experience, can you tell us what your item rating was at the time?

    Thanks.

Hello there i am using an adaptative Rutless Scion's set and ordetch f7 light sabers. When i was lv 51 i had better stats than been lv 52 with improved mods, but that is obvius if you use percentages. The bigger the number the bigger the result of the percentage, simple maths. I also use relics and that.

But is a matter not only about the calculations, also de concept of invalidate your progress because we want you to play "like this" even if we give you the "illusion" of having a progression system. I thank you for writing but if you want to standarice how faster and how much we progress then remove all stats and don't botter attuning numbers because generally you wont get that rigth or leave the system working as intended, meaning, let the number work normally, meaning if you have to hit 10, then hit 10 not 5.

If this sound a bit agressive is because of the frustration and i apologise. Since the level sync the game stop been fun.

Except for that the rest of the game is awsome so far

My current item lv is 144 and my lv 55

    Have a nice day!

  8. Yes, you do, indeed have repercussions (note spelling) on other players' gameplay. It was a recurring complaint that on lower-level planets, lower level people would be gathering to prep a world boss takedown, and two or three max-level players (number dependent on the planet) would come in and wipe out the boss without bothering to join the group.

With level sync, that doesn't happen any more.

EDIT: *but* the current structure of level sync is incorrect. Well, the previous structure was *also* incorrect, but less incorrect, despite the endless series of "Uberdarth Megapower killed by a K'lor Slug on Korriban" memes.

English is not my natural language so spell errors can happen, even for people who speak english. But you have a point on the second part of your argument. The solution for that is removing stats else live with the consecuences. There is no porpouse is having a progession system that do not allow you to pregress, is a backward logic.

  9. And they still haven't got it right. Tried doing Counterfeit Tokens on Mek-Sha, and it refuses to sync to level 75, it leaves my Commando at 58.

I am new in the game, i tried to do that quest but at the moment i didn't know it was high lv quest. I was lv 30 or something, obviouly i could not do it, but i was ok, i thought when a lv up i will make it, a few lv later i discovered the level sync and i though "fuc...." this exist here too.

I am quiting after the sub ends i don't wanna play and work on my gear when is pointless

  10. A reason they added level sync is for those of us in guild that like to go play with their guild members and some of them are lower level than we are, and they were getting penalized for us being there with us. Did they need the help, not, but they liked playing with guild members so level sync helps for those of us that are in guilds that like to play together.

Now in this expansion, they have seemed to mess up the level sync that what it was before and that is causing problems but level sync is nice for the reason it was added, and that was playing with guild/friends that are lower than you.

I agree that when you play in groups are two solutions: level sync or only allow players around your level. But when you play solo should be optional because you don't have repercutions on others people gameplay. But in case you impose level sync you should do it carefully because errors like when you get better gear you get weaker is not alright. Beside is you need level sync remove stats they are pointless

  11. I will never understand the fascination with being overleveled on any given planet.

    Planet.

Planet, as in PvE. Planet, as in things already die fast. Planet, as in, you're killing things just fine regardless.

I've spent 8 years playing in fleet-bought green mods and the occasional nice drop from a story mode op, and all the while growing all my toons, ever since level sync was first incorporated up to and including today, I cannot at all feel that I'm any weaker on any planet because my stats have been knocked down a bit. If it takes 2 more hits to kill a mob than the level before because level sync hit, cry me a river, that's not bad.

If was true it takes 1 or two hits then i would be alright. Normal mobs take me 5 to 6 hits when i am sync. That isn't fun, speacially when you just want to grind crafting nodes

  12. For as long as level sync has been around, there's been people advocating as well as denigrating the feature. At this point, the conversation just goes around in circles with both sides weighing in. All I can say is, if you left WoW because it has level sync, and now you're leaving this MMO because of level sync, if the feature is that distasteful for you, Google around a bit before jumping into a new game and save yourself some angst.

I am not an online player in fact i am a single player gamer (i said lets try some online) and the only ones that shows are very few that are "good or popular". Why i need to know about level sync before trying it??? Beside how is alright that you get weaker than before when you get better gear. That is NOT OK, isn't good desing no matter what you say.

  13. Great, you've explained the problem. That's a great first step.

But as the level sync system stands, players are not rewarded for increased levels and improved gear with increased effectiveness. Period! Do you think another 10 mastery on a planet is something players really feel compared to the older system where we'd at least always feel our tertiary stats making a difference? You suggest that the old system "set the wrong expectation for game balance" and that's somehow a problem because the experience wouldn't match up "facing other players in other modes such as PvP, or NPCs in Operations, and Master Mode Flashpoints" - seriously? Is that a problem? The community is siloed! Different segments of the community focus on class stories versus PvP versus operations versus MM flashpoints! Did that really justify this awful new system that punishes everyone "equally?" And, no mistake, this is a punishment. This system punishes people for investing extra time into their characters, levelling them up, getting extra gear, by making sure that *isn't* reflected by an improvement in actual in-game performance. So the old system had a few wonky outliers. So what? It was *significantly* better than this.

You're punishing players for playing your game *more.* How is that a good business model?

In this system, colour crystals people paid money to get don't work. The entire aug system doesn't work. Relics don't work. Oh, that's fine because at least those aren't WAI? It's okay because you might actually fix those within six months to a year of release? What about the friggin datacron bonuses? Pointless now under your new terrible system, and that's WAI according to your post. Presence bonuses granted from completing all companion conversations from the class stories? Pointless. That's really the sum of 7.0 for a great portion of the player base: you don't seem to care one bit about the work people put in to get specific rewards prior to whatever latest fad you've adopted. We're seeing it in level sync, people who worked for set bonuses like the XP bonus gear are seeing it, anyone sitting at level 80 with an unused weapon skin is seeing it.

You're so much more eager to stop players from playing the "wrong" way than to enable players to play at all - or, heaven forbid, have fun playing - that undocumented nerfs come in faster than a simple fix for desynced mission content!

The general baseline content in this game is a joyless slog right now and it's horrifying to hear from you that this is working as intended. What is wrong with your priorities that your response to plummeting concurrent player counts is to tell the players that they're the ones who are wrong?

I shouldn't have to tell you this because you *should* have player data of your own to look at, but inside of the siloed playerbase, there is a significant segment of players who just play the class stories over and over. That's it, that's all they care about; the expansions never worked for them, flashpoints are a slog, operations are inaccessible, they just like the class stories that much. That segment of the playerbase is so easy to please because they're insulated from all of the later game's development. They only need the gear that can make the base game playable, crafting is more for flavour than anything else, the occasional pretty outfit is nice, but they have what they need. PvPers, raiders, late game PvErs, they're very sensitive to new changes and it's hard to weigh their disparate needs against each other, but at least SWTOR has that cushion of casuals it can always rely on to take what they're given with no complaints. And somehow this update managed to upset literally everyone for no discernable benefit to any distinct group. Yes, even the people who only play the damn base game class stories, who have now found the new level scaling turning every enemy fight into an annoying HP sponge slog with literally 0 discernable benefit. Because, apparently, you didn't like how niche exploiters in different communities were cheesing some out of the way loopholes?

    Was that *really* worth it?

I could not have say it better!!!

  14. That particular problem has been known for some time now. Many people have reported their stats going down when they gain that level to go beyond the planet's synced level. To some extent it's gear related. If you are using only the planetary leveling gear you get from the missions, it occurs rarely. If you are upgrading your gear as it drops, it is more of an issue because you are further above the "gear cap" so the synced reduction is greater. Note that there are no longer hard caps on any stats, all adjustments are a percent reduction in the stat.

That is the thing. There is no point in stats and levels. Your are punish when you get better. They will lose people this way. Sadly is the only bad thing for me in the game. There are small bugs but nothing game breaking.

  15. Hi guys!! I want it to try this game so a pay the sub for this month. I am gonna say i left wow because of the level sync and i dind't know this game has it too. At first is was ok but now no. Let me explain. I was lv 51 on quesh and i level up great! i wanted to check my stats before applying the new mods to my gear and improbe the accesories, so i took pictures of my stats before upgrade ui.

I upgraded my gear i went back to quesh and get what? the mobs got harder and then i open my character panel to see my stats and guess what? i was weaker than before using better gear what the f...???

Level sync should be optional the same way than buying CC to get convenient items are. Should be my choise if a want to destroy everything or no in one hit when you play solo.

After my sub ends i am out, It is sad because i love the rest of the game but i don't tolerate having stat and leveling system to be meanigless. Sorry i needed the rant.

    Everyone has a nice day!
