  1. It's clear from the reports that there is something not quite right if you do Story before Solo, but I think it clears after a daily reset (12 noon GMT).

Hasn't changed for me yet. I can only choose between Story, Veteran and Master mode.

If you had ATAtC in your mission log, you should also have had the "Launch" button in the on-HUD version of the log. If you have that for a mission, use that to start the mission.

No Launch button, no. That's why I was quite confused at first, after finishing Umbara. Then I found the quest in my log and followed the Mission point to where it was to access it.

    The sequence after KotET is:

    * War on Iokath up to the point where it devolves into setting up the dailies (doing the Operation is not necessary.)

    * Crisis on Umbara in "Solo" (automatically selected)

    * A Traitor Among the Chiss in "Solo" (manually selected )

Use the Launch buttons to launch each one.

Ok, thank you. Then I basically got everything so far. Except the "story" to A Traitor Among the Chiss...

As I said, there wasn't a Launch button at the last quest... and unfortunately I didn't check at the terminal if there were other options before entering the flashpoint.

  2. Exit the flashpoint.

    Reset or abandon the mission.

Right-click your character portrait and click "Reset Active Phases" somewhere in the menu.

    Try again.

EDIT: and to advance the story, do not play the STORY version of the flashpoint. Play the SOLO version.

I bet you think I'm yanking your chain.

I'm not. The mission clearly says to play SOLO, so play SOLO. (Two options are *played* solo. One of them is *called* solo. Play that one.)

Do you mean that after finishing the mission on Story mode the first time - by accident - you can't finish it on Solo mode?

I just started playing SWTOR after some time again and played Crisis on Umbara - on Solo, I guess - at least there were some cut-scenes... anyway, after finishing it there was nothing, except that I had the "A Traitor Among the Chriss" in my quest log already. So I thought that's it, since there wasn't any cutscene or anything that told me what to do next. I entered the Flashpoint (A Traitor Among The Chiss) and played through it. Although no cutscenes in sight. I didn't think much about it, until I had to find out that there are actually cutscenes and a story that's going on. But apparently I had played it on Story mode. And now it seems there isn't any way for me to continue the (solo mode) story.

Is that possible? Oh man, that would really suck if I botched it for good. :-/

    (1) In spoiler box because what I'm saying is slightly impolite.

I am, however, left trying really hard not to ask people why they tried to run through a yellow phase wall to enter a flashpoint. I'm clearly not doing very well at keeping that question to myself.(2)

    (2) The most recent time I did the Copero FP, I paid careful attention to what was going on. And yes, it's a mess.

I seriously didn't look at the color. I really only play Swtor once in a while casually. And up till now all the chapters were perfectly put together, one leading to the other.

I actually got confused after playing starting Crisis on Umbara - because I thought there was something missing after finishing The Eternal Throne. But then again, I haven't played Swtor since then... so now I wanted to take a look again and continue, and thought, it would be like before. Kinda like the chapters in Fallen Emprire and Eternal Throne. Not just two flashpoints.

  3. Best recommendation next is to use CRU at this link and create an EDID override with just supported resolutions listed.

Ah, see, I was trying to play around with creating an EDID like suggested in the link to the other post, but I wasn't able to really find out what to do. This now looks way better and easier. Thank you!

PS (Edit) - Ok, I got it fixed now, but now the game is stuttering. Don't know if it's lag or framerate or whatever... gonna have to take a look into it tomorrow.

  4. Hi guys,

I haven't played SWTOR for about a year and thought I'd give it a try again, but when I started it (after updating everything), I had to realize, that my graphics are squashed lightly. It seems kinda that it went from my aspect ratio of 16:10 (1680x1050) to an aspect ratio of 16:9 or so.

Which wasn't the case at any time before. I haven't had that problem up till now.

Anyway, I haven't found a solution to my problem yet and hoped that maybe someone here can help me out.

Here's a screenshot of the character selection screen as an example:

I found a post here http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=100907 about a fix for stretched/squashed graphics, but I seriously wasn't able to find out how to use it properly.

I do have a Samsung Syncmaster 223BW monitor on a Windows 7 (64) system with a AMD Radeon HD 7850 graphic card.

    Thank you for your help!

  8. Hallo an alle,

  9. Shammus

I dont think your going to win this arguement. I understand what your saying and how much money can be lost in many of the other professions. I really do.

What your not getting is that those Schematics and Missions are extremely rare. And they are a role of the dice kind of thing. Just happens.

Slicing is a skill that is designed to directly create credits. Why else would you have nodes that drop nothing but credits and missions that drop credits.

Now when you have a profession entirely based on creating credits that no longer does that you have a broken profession.

Yes, Slicing needed nerfed. But not by the extreme in which is was done.

And for those of you who are reading this and are like "Well what about the F*ing Augments" I would agree with you if the market for this was stable. But it is almost entirely depended on someone receiving a critical on crafting.

Maybe that is what needs fixed. Add more Augment Slots and drive up the need for them. Then Slicers can get a return on planet and through Crew Missions.

I totally agree with you, Shammus!

it's ok to be for or against slicing - if economics would be that easy to figure out - what is right and what is wrong, we wouldn't have a global financial crisis...

anyway, as you say, this profession - regarding the lockbox-missions - is broken by now. instead of balancing the skill out, bioware just killed it. seems highly unprofessional to me, from my point of view, and I hope that they do something about it in the near future.

  10. I think the real motive is that slicing was not intended to be used as an end game profession. While leveling and collecting nodes it's fine but once you hit 50 you should be using a crafting profession or going back into the world to farm nodes like every other profession has to do to be profitable. If everyone could make money by slicing without working there might as well not be other professions because who would level them?? It doesn't make sense and it would be detrimental to the economy.

Crew skill missions should be used when the time to gather the material would be disproportionate to the amount needed. You need 1 metal send a companion. You need 50 you better fuel up the ship. They are not an economical alternative to bulk farming materials. That is true for every profession. If I can make money without effort what motivation is there for me to collect patterns and craft materials and place them on the auction house and wait for them to sell?

yeah, how about you learn something about economics, dude!

if everyone would make money by slicing and nobody would level other professions, the one's who do slicing at some point would want those items from the other professions - and guess what: the one person who actually did level one or more of those other professions could put his items on the market and would have the opportunity to put any price on them whatever he would like to - since there's no competition.

and if he then makes hundredthousands or more of credits, guess what, more and more ppl who did slicing would begin to craft items...

so, yes, please, tell us something about economics...
